So I just got a pinterest and I made a board called hoop love. I absolutely love looking at the pictures that the hoop community takes and I see so much beauty and inspiration in them. I would love to start posting a whole collection on my pin it board and I've already posted a few of my friend Siena Moon and my fist hoop teacher Anna Hulagan and I wanted to pin pictures from hoopcity but I'm not sure if people would be offended or weirded out if I post pictures of them without their permission, especially with hooper's you tube video's being stolen and reposted and such. I'd like to hear your feedback on whether it would be appropriate to pin pictures of hoopers from hoop city? Maybe if I sent the person whose picture I would want to post a message asking their permission first? It would be mostly for me to pin these pictures for inspiration and because I find them to be an art form, but others on the internet would able to see them also  so I wouldn't want to put anyone out there that doesn't want to be. This is what I am talking about: http://http://pinterest.com/thatgirl095/hoop-love/

I haven't used pinterest before, if you're putting up a picture of another hooper I would just make sure to leave a link to the original source and maybe message them if it gets a lot of pins!

check it out it's really cool! it also automatically links everything u post back to the original source and wont let you use pics from peoples facebooks so i dont feel that its too invasive, also I just noticed that other people have hoop boards too!

I would just inform the person that you used their picture. If they have a problem with it then they can always ask you to take it down.

I want to use pinterest but I think you have to have it linked to some type of social networking like fb or twitter. Poo :[

your more then welcome to use any of mine if you would like of course....... just send the person whose picture you want to post a message asking their permission.........best way to go without drama, if you know what I mean...... =]

I'm always kind of delighted when I find a photo or video of myself randomly on Pinterest or elsewhere, though a notice that it's happening would be nice, just so I could know about it and share it with my own networks.

I feel like if a picture is posted publicly on a forum like Hoop City or really anywhere on the internet you have to be prepared for that picture to be reblogged or used. Personally I am always really flattered if someone tells me they saw one of my hooping pictures on the internet somewhere I didn't post it.

Proper credit is the most important thing, if you can't contact the owner for some reason.  But mainly credit first and foremost.

Also thought I should mention, I looked at the board you linked (it's awesome, btw), and one of your pictures is incorrectly credited to Hoopnotica and the link to the source is broken anyway.  It's the pick of the woman jumping at the other guy, both of them with hoops.  That actually comes from here:  http://www.hooptechnique.com/
