I have had several PSI hoops for years now and I still love them.  They are durable, have bright LEDs, he has tons of LED colour options and lots of tubing to choose from.

5 stars!

I bought Rich Porter's PSI hoop YEARS ago and it still glows very bright and has a decent battery life. It was too heavy for him but I thought it was perfect! It was well-sanded and the on switch/charging port was tiny enough not to get in my way when I was doing my thing. I love it but I'm a DIYer/second hander so I don't think I would've spent the full retail price. I'm glad I found a deal.

Patrick has worked with me not only once, but twice to create the PERFECT customized LED hoop! Both of my hoops from him have been meticulously put together - no rattle, seamless design, excellent battery life, amazing weight and balance, and the colors have always been so bright and vivid! My hoops have withstood all kinds of throws/falls without breaking or ever malfunctioning. He has the most LED options of any other hoop maker out there and his turn-around time is decent too (three-four weeks). Not only that, but when I realized that I had ordered the wrong size, he went above and beyond to help me find the right size and fixed it for me.

I completely recommend PSI hoops! It is WORTH the price.

How durable are the PP Psi hoops? I have heard reports of them cracking in cold weather

I've had my PSI hoop for almost a year now, and it is freaking fantastic.

Mine has the max lights that Patrick does (24), with twelve on one circuit and 12 on another (one circuit is warm colors and the other is cool).  It's like having three hoops in one, and well worth the money!  (although it was a Christmas gift, heheh).  What's incredibly to me about the Psi hoop over many others is the durability, the incredible balance, and the sheer amount of thought and focus that Patrick has put into his design over the years.  At this point, the PSI hoop is basically the most perfect design on the LED hoop market.

My hoop is 3/4ths LED.  If you choose polypro, you have to go with the AAA batteries, and there is a small chance of the area round the battery cracking in extreme cold weather.  I wanted my batteries to last the fully four hours and not to worry about tightness with the batteries, so I chose HDPE.  It is no heavier than my 3/4s pe, 38" hoop - it's actually quite lighter than that, but understandably there is some unavoidable extra weight because of the LEDs.

Customer service wise, I am super impressed as welll.  Just a month or so ago I misplaced my charger and e-mailed Patrick to ask about replacing it.  He e-mailed me back the same day, with both responses! I actually found the charger later, so I didn't have to send for a replacement...but still, the speed of his reply was amazing!

Oh, and as for wait time...my bf ordered the hoop for me in Early December and it came right around Christmas!   That is super fast for an LED hoop!

Because mine was super customized with some pricier options, the cost was at the high end he listed, but for that I got three hoops in one that were perfectly balanced and completely silent.  (Seriously, I can't hear anything going on in there, even when the room is totally quiet) and has stood up to me banging it into all sorts of things (oops).

Though some people may choose the smart hoops for their customization and variation, I have to say that if you're more concerned with a durable led hoop that is reliable and the ultimate in genius craftmenship, you have *got* to go for a PSI.

I ADORE my psi hoop! First of all Patrick is very accommodating, his customer service is quick and I really liked how you can contact him personally. I've had mine for almost a year. A first I was thinking of getting one of the hoopcamp mandala leds, but I finally decided after conferring with Patrick to customize my own one circuit hoop
it has 18 dragonflies alternating with 6 elfins. Its super bright, super light since I went with the polypro. Charges great, stays bright for a long time, until im exhausted but it's still going! At first it was egg shaped, from shipping I suppose, but now it's corrected itself almost to a perfect circle. No rattles, its sturdy, and I hoop pretty fast and do breaks. That's one thing I wanted to make sure of, a hoop that could withstand my pace. I'm a super happy customer! You can find a video here
