Hey everyone!!! I just received my first poly pro today! Im stoked! However, I am def. not as good with it as I am with my PE hoop..... I have learned on a 3/4 PE hoop at 36 inches then I went straight to 5/8 OD with 33 inches! It is pretty hard for me right now.... Its small and super light.... I am having a hard time controlling it... Do you eventually get use to it?? Should I get a bigger size or something? Advice please!

Permalink Reply by Sally Ann on October 11, 2012 at 9:50pm You definitely get used to it! It takes some time to get used to how light it is and it kind of seems to have a mind of its own at first. You will soon fall in love with it and not be able to go back from it. I went from a 35 to a 31 and it took some time to grow into, but it is my favorite now! You'll be okay, just keep practicing with it :)
I am looking at ordering a PolyPro right now and I am nervous about size. I currently hoop with a 3/4 37 inch hoop most of the time. I am looking at a 36 inch poly pro but I am worried that is not small enough and I will out grow it too fast. I have a 29 inch hoop I also use and I find it too small for some tricks...I don't really know what the right balance is. Has anyone heard a general suggestion for starter poly-pro?
Permalink Reply by Allyssa on October 12, 2012 at 9:10am You will eventually get used to it...but for future reference you might want to only downsize a few inches at a time. 3/4 PE is actually one of the thicker tubing sizes and 5/8 is one of the smallest. You might try something that's a 1/2 inch diameter for pe or 3/4 inch for polypro (those are the same) and maybe a 35 or 24 incher. The switch is usually dramatic because the black tubing is much heavier and especially if it is taped it will weigh more. Polypro is designed to be quick, light weight, and responsive to moves like breaks and reversals. Happy hooping!
