I just saw this video with some tricks I don't think I've seen before!

Does anybody know how to do these? I assume you have to master hooping on an angle first but how much more difficult is it to do these tricks like this?

Really cool vid! I love the spin cycle pun.

As to your question, I'm not the best authority because I can't do the shoulder transfer dependably either way, but I actually find the one-shoulder easier in some ways at an angle-- you can use your whole body to maintain the momentum after the duck-out by adding a little jump. It's hard to put it in words, but experiment with it & I bet you'll see what I mean.

I love angle hooping & I'm always looking for new twists so thanks for posting this!
If you're talking about what she starts at 1:03, it looks like a variation of this:
are there more tutorials on one-shoulder hooping? I am so frustrated with this one. It feels like no matter what i do the damn thing flies off. I'll take all hints on how to work this trick... I want to get to the point where I can go shoulder to shoulder but right now I can only occasionally get it going on my elbow and even more rarely on my shoulder. Help please!
My hoop just flies off no matter what also. I feel your fustration. If you find out anything let me know and I'll do the same. I need help on this.
I struggled with this move for a looong time. My problem was that I was making a very sudden, large motion, kind of like the duck out. Once I made sure I was JUST dropping my head (NOT my shoulder), I started to make progress. Also, keep your shoulder up high and your arm straight out behind you.
i think there's also an anatomy thing going on with the shoulder hooping - i have really sloping and narrow shoulders so i REALLY have to exaggerate my movement to make the hoop stay on my shoulder. make sure to go straight up and not forwards with your shoulder, although if you're like me, you have to duck your head out forwards. at the start my side simply was not flexible enough! practice and more practice wil stretch that side out. i spent a lot of time watching myself in the mirror trying to see what position made my shoulder most prominent, and then practicing without the hoop to get into that position quickly. also, i find i can't duck straight out from having the hoop around my shoulders - i have to get the hoop around my neck on the opposite side to the shoulder that i'm going to rotate the hoop around and then flick my head under the hoop. i would do a video, except that i can never seem to upload them :(
Try pulling the armpit up toward your shoulder as you raise your shoulder - weird description - but if your armpit hollows out, then you are raising your shoulder with good balance between chest and back muscles - then your shoulder will jut out better.
shimarella - I was feeling the same way! I can do it now though :) the best way for me to get it was to remember to not only SHRUG my shoulder, but to make sure I shrug UP and not forward. It feels awkward but looks normal hehe
Neat video! I love the way she just tumbles/rolls with the hoop starting around minute 1. I really admire hoopers who keep the hoop moving at odd angles.
wow this chick really has a hard on for angles! i love it!
I think I found my new inspiration video of the month.
