Hi Hoopers!

The other week I made a commitment to myself to instigate one small act of kindness each and every week.

Last week I gave all the change I had in my wallet to the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign (about $6 worth) while I was grocery shopping.
This morning, while going through the Starbucks drive-tru I paid for the order of the car behind me. I am really hoping it started a chain reaction in line.

What smalls acts of kindness have you done recently? Donated some time to someone? Leant an ear to a hurting friend? Shoveled a neighbors sidewalk? Tell us about it!

Yesterday my husband and children drove one of my handmade hoops to a children's charity accepting gifts children in the need. =) I guess it was a partnership in the giving area (I was at work).
This is a lovely thread - well done everyone, really nice things!!
Im staying at my mums for a while and she lives near a popular fishing and recreation spot. Each day Ive been going armed with a garbage bag and scissors to collect any rubbish thats been washed ashore or left behind, and pick out all the discarded fishing line & tackle I can find (which sadly is a lot) from in between the rocks.
2 of my friends kindly donated money, pipe and connectors to the hoop cause so Ive matched it and have almost finished making a nice bunch of hoops to donate to a local Xmas toy appeal.
This weekend I surprised my parents and Oma with loaves of homemade bread.

And gave more change to the Salvation Army.
Inspired by this thread, I just sneakily bought my friend her lunch. While she was in the bathroom I ran up to the cashier and paid for both of us and returned to the table. I know it's not completely random but she had just been stressed out about Christmas and I wanted to do something to brighten her day at least a little.
Ahh... It feels so good to give!!! In past years I have done lots of things like that. This year I am more of a taker. I have been unemployed since last Feb. Good for you!!!! Keep it up!!!

I love to pay it forward, even if it is a simple, small gesture- like holding open the door for someone, donating my old clothes to women's shelters, volunteering, etc. :)
