My husband is wanting to get into poi and really likes the glow poi that the Spinsterz offer.  I know this man and as soon as he gets good with those, he will want the fire poi as well!  Has anyone ever tried these?  Are the connections good?  How about the quality of the fire heads?  It seems like a really good price to get two for one!

A friend has the strobing glow poi with some kind of cover with holes in it.  It breaks the light up really, really nicely and makes it look like you're swinging several at once.  He got his set at a festival this past Spring, but I can't find anything online.  Do ya know where to get something like that at?!?

I have a pair of oggs that I love for glow poi, but for durability for newbies I suggest flow toys. they don't do anything to fancy but they are bright, the batteries are easy to change and if you smak them together (and you will) they hold up. for fire poi I suggest you buy the wicks and finger grips you prefer on line and buy your length of chain at home depot. you want to make sure you use chain link and not ball chan. you can't see ware and tear on ball chain and if your going to spin fire with people around you need to be safe. For wicks I love the monkey fist design they hold up great, but they are kind of heavy.

HI Jenna,

Brandon here, from The Spinsterz.

To answer your first question, yes, connections on the glow poi are good and very rarely break, although there has been a few instances where this has occurred. If it happens to you we would replace the balls, no questions asked. The fire poi are bomber and will last you a LONG time.

We do offer the strobing poi you are talking about, you can find them here http://www.thespinsterz.com/products/Strobing-Reggae-Poi.html These poi however are not as well made as the glow poi you see in the combo deal you are referring to. They are fun to watch, but will not take as much abuse as the others.

Hope this helps!

Brandon
