If you ordered polypro and got a small bundle and can't get it straight, this may help :)

I ordered my first polypro bundle from US plastics about a week ago.  I got 5/8" OD.  The tubing looked wonderful and it got here on time, but it was coiled so small I couldn't get it to stay straight at all!  I then looked online and found some one saying you shouldn't get small coils for larger hoops but rather than ordering a new one, I found a simple and easy way to stretch it out!

Take a long rope (mine was 20 ft and fairly thin) and fish it through your already cut to size hoop, and tie it to something sturdy.  Then slowly pull on the rope, (careful not to let it twist) Once its straight, anchor it to something else sturdy.  I left my hoop stretched out for about 30 min, and when I took it down it was the perfect size! The ends were still slightly bent so I put two straight pieces of wood about 9" long in the ends to get them straight as well.

Other methods require a lot more time or even heat that I've found.  Hopefully this works for you, and good luck. I'll try to help and way I can!

That's a great idea :)

Rather than start a new thread, I'm just gonna ask my polypro question here.  I left my original polypro leaning against the wall last winter, and (stupid, stupid, stupid!) the baseboard heater kicked in and warped it within about 45 minutes.  I can still hoop with it but one section is totally flat.  Anyway, I'd like to try and warp it back into a circular shape, but not sure what kind of heat to apply.  I tried the hair dryer and couldn't get the poly hot enough.   Should I just hold it over a flame, or use a torch?  I feel like I will only make the problem worse if I use something TOO hot.  Does anyone have experience with this?

Leaving it out in the sun while its laying flat could help.
