Hey there hoopers,
I am a new hooper who is 6'2" female.  I am looking either to make some cool hoop clothes or to buy some that might fit my 37 inch inseam.  If anyone has any suggestions that would be great!  I already have some larger hoops that are great although it makes it slighty harder to gain momentum at times.
      Thanks

Yay tall girls! I'm 5'8... A shorty compared to you! But I too have the 'high water' problem with pants. How long have you been hooping? I thought I was doomed to use larger hoops (40'-42') my whole life because of my height, but as I've progressed, I'm now comfortable hooping with 36"
Woo Woo! 6'1" in the house! As far as hoop clothes are concerned, I just altered what I already had to suit my hooper lifestyle. I have made some pants and skirts for myself. I suggest Rue 21 to anyone looking for cute clothes for cheap. They have big sales and things are like 1 and 2 bucks. Sequins, knit, stretch, tall socks, belts, vests...etc, you just may have to tweek it just a bit(most stuff is perfect for hoopers). Now for the hoops, in my 3 years as a hooper I have used em all. I like the heavy ones every now and then and can groove in your standard size and weight hoop, but I am a small hoop hooper for sure!!! My hoops range from 33-36" and use 1/2 tubing. I love off body work, so it suits me best. Tall, Sexy Hoopers Unite!!
I am 5'10" and reeeeally struggle with finding pants to hoop in, quite honestly - or at least pants that I feel are long enough. Melodia's are great and offer longer inseams, but I am also pretty thin and need a size small of any stretchy pants I buy. Longer inseams seem to be more popular with larger sizes (I have this issue with all pants, actually). I have anywhere from a 35-36 inch inseam, so I understand the frustration. I did find some Melodia's that I LOVE that were a 35" inseam online last year, and so long as I don't put them in the drier they are perfect now. I've found that a lot of the stretchier hooping pants actually stretch out some the more you wear them.

Have you ever tried to make pants, or looked into simple pants patterns? I'm willing to bet that there are some hoopers out there who would custom craft some lovely hooping clothes for you, too! I am going to experiment this Spring and Summer with trying to make my own pants for the first time - if all goes well I'll post up my patterns or insights here. You might also consider buying some pants that fit you well from the knees up, then altering them - adding fabric to the legs somehow.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about your hoop size, either... Take your time and size your hoops down slowly, if you feel called to do so. Experiment with different tape jobs or weights of tubing, too, to see what you are most comfortable with. Even going down an inch in diameter can be a huge adjustment! I started with a hoop filled with water, and maybe 45 or more inches in diameter - now I am down to a 36" and love it. It just took me some time to get there (about 2 years).
I am just starting to craft some hooping pants...i was thinking of putting some real veil like fabric from the hip to feet so it flutters around as I hoop. I have been hooping for six months and like some of my smaller hoops now. It makes it a little harder when I am trying to jump in or out of it. Also today I just tried to attach some fabric to my hoop to see if that would have a cool effect when it spins. It didn't really work, but was fun trying :)
wow it's great to see some other girls are having problems with their pants that look like capris!

I always complain about how I can't wear cute tight black yoga pants for hooping, b/c they are too damn short!
Even if I take the bottom hem out, they are still to short.

I recently googled "tall yoga pants" and found this website: http://www.tallwomen.org/clothes/usa/
check it out!

I ordered a really cute pair from victoria secret that I hope will be long enough! 34 '' inseam, but I usually wear 36'' if I can find it! Waiting in the mail for them...

I feel your pain!!
YAY,

6 feet and loving it. W
when you're taller you can do a bigger waterfall/corkscrew. :)

Thanks for all the links, i think ankle/leg warmers would be a good investment, for those pants that just don't make it all the way down.
5'8 here! Even with my height i struggle with pants i order running short on my alll the time. I usually end up adding extra length. I started using a 42inch hoop and now im comfortably hooping with a 38inch so far!
I forgot to mention to all the ladies with long legs...Alloy catalog carries 37' inseam in most of their pants and stretch pants...not the best quality, but lot of selection. Also if you need really long jeans and have a hard time a store called Buckle carries Tall , extra tall, and extra extra tall (which are plenty long on me).

I grew up a really lanky child and always felt self conscious about my body and especially dancing. As I grew older my height helped empower me and i have learned how thankful I am for the differences we all have. Hooping has been the first type of dance and physical expression (besides a sport) that I feel really confident about. I love hooping...six months in and I know I am a hooper for life. :)
Hey, does anyone know where i can find a 45" hoop. I tried Etsy, but they were talking about difficulty with shipping and cannot seem to find any stores online that sell them that large. I am seeing that thats what i need because i am 5'10". Thanks :)
Are there any hoopers in your area? If so they may be willing to make hoops to order. Better yet, learn how to make your own! You won't regret it. Lots of info here on the site, & YouTube videos too to teach you how.
Circularlogic, Bless your heart.. you have responded to every question and i thank you so much. I know i can be annoying. Haha! This is the best idea i have heard and i can make many different sizes. I called Home Depot after looking at the Tutorial on Youtube, which seemed really easy and fun to decorate and Home Depot has 3/4" 160psi in 100ft. for 32.00 and a connector or cuplink whatever you want to call it for 88c. I can do it in whatever color i want. The only thing i am concerned about is something to give it a grip. I am hearing that makes it easier. I am not sure if i NEED it, but i figured it wouldn't hurt. I am not sure of the price, but he told me they sell in the lumber dept. tread that is used for ladders and it has an adhesive on it that is sold in 5 yards. So i think i will be very pleased with the result. The best part is, i don't have to wait for shipping and i buy everything Monday. I am pumped. Thanks again for your help. :D
hockey tape is cheap and has great grip! ...i also used hockey shin tape instead of electrical tape..its a bit wider and very cheap too!
