Hey Hoopers! Just thought I'd share an interesting story from Lotus (w/ Ghostland Observatory, Mimosa, Michael Menert and Sonicspank) at FDR Park in Philadelphia, PA. First of all the show was fantastic as a whole, plenty of space to hoop and plenty of people who enjoyed watching any sort of glow-toy. Ghostland Observatory went on just before Lotus, who was closing the show, and it was around then that I noticed what appeared to be a clear hoop laying on the ground a few yards away from my group's pile of hoops/blanket/chillspot. Anyways I didn't think anything of it at first and went on jamming out and hooping just to the left of the stage. Once Lotus is about half-way through I spot the hoop amongst a totally new crowd of guys who didn't seem to even notice it. I went over and picked it up to move it out of possible stompage, and it was then that I realized this was more than just some clear polypro tubing, it had a tiny toggle on the inside of the hoop. Being the hoop-crazed guy that I am I had read detailed reviews on various "smart-hoops" (Phoenix, Helix, etc) and soon realized I was holding an Astral Atomic hoop! Sadly my memory of the semi-complicated (it just takes some getting used to I've found) programming system didn't hold as well and I figured it had died as I could only get a single green light to go on. As the show came to a close no one claimed the hoop, no one even seemed to be looking for it from what we could tell and soon we were some of the few people left standing in that area. My group and I decided it would be better to take the hoop with us and possibly find it's owner through Facebook or maybe see something on HoopCity about a lost Atomic. After taking it back to school with me I looked into the menu and realized it wasn't dead (I admit I went through just about every pattern, I couldn't help myself!)
I have since contacted Astral Hoops and am awaiting a response, I noticed a serial number inside the hoop along the lights with an ID size. I assumed that each individual hoop would be given an individual number, since they are so specifically made I'm also guessing that there is some sort of record that matches the hoop-number to the owner. On the off-chance that that does not hold true I thought I'd spread the message to the Hoop Community to see if I can return this beautiful hoop to it's owner (despite it's perfect size ;] I kid I kid.)
Anyways that's my story from this weekend, I never thought I'd groundscore an LED hoop let alone something infinitely upgradeable! I tip my hat off to Astral Hoops, that thing is mind-blowing to say the least! If you see anything about anyone losing their astral at Lotus please send them my direction! Let's reunite Hooper with Hoop!

Awwww, man! I really hope you are able to find the owner. I just got my Atomic hoop this year, and I would be devastated if I lost it!! That sucker never leaves my hand when I take it out in public.
Permalink Reply by Taylien on September 17, 2012 at 11:00am Can I just say that you are AWESOME for posting this? There are people out there who would have kept this groundscore for themselves, but you didn't. Thank you for continuing to spread some honesty and kindness out into the world!

I found an iphone at all good one year. i called some of the numbers in it and was able to find out who the owner was and return it to them. people really do appreciate your honesty :)
Permalink Reply by Mina Bear on September 17, 2012 at 12:08pm I found one of those Blackberry Storms on the ground at Starscape ages ago when they were still the hottest new phone, sent it back to the owners and they sent me $50 as a thank you reward, definitely wasnt expecting that!
Permalink Reply by Mina Bear on September 17, 2012 at 12:07pm good to know there are still some great and honest people out there. Karma will be good to you for trying so hard to reunite a hooper and their beloved Astral Hoop!

Awesome score....but seriously, you might be one of the nicest hoopers!!! Destined to be yours....not that I am glad the other person has lost their hoop, but I hope karma does you a favor ;)
Permalink Reply by Casey B. on September 17, 2012 at 3:36pm You are an awesome person! I can guarantee most people would've just kept it and not said a word. Hopefully no one steps up to claim it and it's yours, but even if they do - you've got good karma on your side!

You're a lovely person for trying to get this person their hoop back. Posted this in a couple Facebook hooper groups. I have an Atomic and I would be crushed if I lost mine too. You rock. <3
Permalink Reply by Krista on September 19, 2012 at 11:23am It sounds as if this hoop couldn't have been found by a better person. It obviously has found a wonderful home with someone who respects it, will care for it, and will give it the time of its life! I'm sure the previous owner is upset but would be happy to know that's it's being cared for and appreciated. Bravo to you for going out of your way to try and get it back home, it's an example of the good in this world.
