The Twin/Mini class rocks!
Have you taken any of the other classes?? I am thinking about signing up for 4 of them at the same time, then I'll have all the stuff I still need to learn or perfect..
Yes, I signed up for Seeding 1 and 2 and Budding. I like the Budding class. Which ones are you thinking of?
I was thinking of starting off with budding and moving on from there..By the looks of things these classes are fab!! soooo will be signing up soon! thanx soooo much everyone for your honest input...peace and love...Hendryx..
I highly recommend them... I've been treating myself to one every other month or so. I'm in Blooming, Breaks & Reversals, & Minis, & all are excellent. In addition to the precise, thorough & professional lessons (even better than her YouTube tutes-- often with slo-mo & troubleshooting tips), there's also a discussion section for each lesson so you have the opportunity to ask questions about the moves or post a video to see what you're doing right or wrong.

Four classes at once sounds a little overwhelming to me, but then again, if you have the bucks, why not-- you can always take as long as you need with each lesson, mix & match, follow your bliss! The lessons within each classroom do build on each other though.
I can't speak first hand about them, but I have heard great things from others. Especially the mini's class. In fact I asked for a class from my family for Christmas. It's funny, this will be my first Christmas as a hooper and everything on my wish list is hooping related. haha. Anyway, I say try one and then you can sign up for more later. I haven't heard a single bad comment about any of her classes.
I am really finding the classes useful and a good motivator. I signed up for Seeding, Blooming, Breaks/reversals and Minis. I have never hooped with minis before so I am learning so much from them.

I didn't learn a ton from the Seeding classes in terms of new tricks, but I did get lots of new ideas in terms of stylistic details, combinations and flow.
The classes are amazing! But if you were to get four at once might be a little overwhelming... so many tutorials to watch! I would say get two then maybe two later.. but whatever floats your boat!! I suppose it really doesnt matter :)
I love the classes because there is no one in my area that offers classes or even hoops! SaFires classes are really the only hooping education I am able to get besides the tutes on youtube. Every video is crystal clear and bright, not grainy or dim like you'll find on youtube. You can hear every word she says and most moves she demonstrates in both currents. I always recommend her class to anyone I meet wanting to learn to hoop. Definitely worth the money.
well im in almost every class she has to offer lol thats how amazing they were for me!!! Even if there were moves I already knew how to do in a class the vids were still important......her explanations always gave me a new understanding of exactly what was going on...rather then just hoping it would work right..... I learned to be in control of the hoop. Go for it!!
I can't recommend them enough. I already knew about half of the tricks in the first series but I started with that one anyway and I'm so glad I did. SaFire explains the basics of dance and really makes you think about the movements required to be a great hoop DANCER. It's SO MUCH MORE than just learning how to do tricks. Her explanations are so clear and the class material is VERY comprehensive. I especially like the flow sessions where she teaches combinations of different tricks. The Planting Seeds introductory class has a ton of really helpful information as well (and it's free). I feel like I've improved so much from the first series and I plan on buying all of her classes.

SaFire, you really are my hero! Thank you for being such a great teacher!
I can't even keep the hoop on my waist for half a turn before it falls on the floor so I think I will wait until I can at least do one or two full turns. I just tried again and it falls. Unless someone would tell me that with the Level 1 class I'm sure I will get it. I have been practicing the moves without the hoop and then, I took the hoop and it instantly fell.

Swizzy Ape

a way out of the hoop

I'm stuck in a loop with the hula hoop. When I was a little girl I was abused in every which way. Often I was grounded to my bedroom, with two bathroom visits and a dinner release. In my bedroom held my boom box. Loud music would draw my angry step father towards my room. But I had to dance, so from a young age I would take a few preventable beatings so I could dance in my bedroom. Pretending I'm dancing on stage with Brain Setzer, I had trained myself to ingore reality while I dance. Even…

I haven't posted for a very long time, but I have something worth sharing.  In the last couple of years, I have advanced enough to start teaching and I absolutley love my classes.  All my students are wonderful its the most favorite part of my week. Through a very unfortunate series of events, every hoop I own, including my hoops for students, were taken and no longer in my possession. I was so upset ,not for myself, but my students would have nothing to take class with. There…
