A woman who runs an exercise company where I live just cancelled a few Saturday classes and has expressed interest in having me do a hoop class demo in February. A friend said that maybe we should shoot a promo video to show the class at the beginning, but I have not the first clue in doing that. I think it's a fantastic idea, but have no experience with it. Any suggestions?

For a demo reel of your hoop performances and work, highlight your strongest and most dramatic moves. Keep the whole thing short (under 3 minutes). Edit, edit, edit. Don't go crazy with effects and fancy transitions, but cut to the core of every clip you use. Use music that reflects your movement style. Put your name at the beginning and end; include your contact details at the end.

To promote a class, use scenes of you teaching, some happy smiling students in action, a few "hooping is great" quotes from students in the class setting. Again, short is best - can you tell your story in 60 seconds? Pick music that reflects your class, use your best shots. Don't forget to put your name and contact info at the end.

Thank you so much Tink! That is exactly the kind of stuff I needed to know! Seriously appreciate it.

I agree....great tips! Thanks Tink :)
