I have my belly pierced and I love it :] I got it done because I would always find the cutest jewelry for it and I've always been a fan of piercings, so it was fate. Between me and my friends that have it done, it takes longer to heal than any other piercing we've had, but it's well worth it! And I also found it to be the LEAST painful piercing, next to my tongue (which I literally did not feel at all) and I've had every possible place on my ears pierced, monroe, nose, and smiley, however everyone has different pain tolerances, and every piercer is different, my friends would agree with me that it's nothing to worry about. :] hope this helps!
I got mine when I was 18 and then had a baby at 21. I took mine out during pregnancy and the whole was still there afterward so I put it back in. I will tell you though it doesn't look bad really but it just doesn't look as good as it did before I was fat lol! I think being fat detracts from its once aesthetic appearance lol!

I had mine pierced for a few years.  I have since had children and the only stretch mark I got was from where my piercing was...  The scar tissue didn't stretch the way the rest of my skin did... same with my one sis.  However, unless I were to point out the stretch mark, I doubt anyone would ever notice it.

At the end of the day, if you are prone to stretch marks, you will get them regardless if you have a belly piercing or not... and if you are self conscious, you likely won't be showing your tummy much.

As for whether to pierce or not, that is totally up to you.  =)  Only you know what will look and feel good on your body.

very true! my other mixed feeling is that toned tummies without piercings look nice too..again. im very indecisive >_/p>

my client never lost her baby weight..so yea her bellybutton hole is stretched and not cute. everytime she comes into train(once every4 months), she shows me her belly and says DONT DO IT.. haha its funny

I got my mine pierced about 14 years ago. I've had surgery since then (twice), where they actually went in through my navel, and my piercing still looks good. What I haven't done is have children. So that might have made a difference. I love my piercing. It took a while to heal though. I remember having to wear sweat pants with the waist band folded over most of the time for a good long while. Waist hooping might have been difficult if I was into that back then.
how long is a long while? :)) OH and another thing! when i sit.. i have a crease in my belly button.. i always thought that might hurt the healing process..
Several weeks....possibly three or four months. It's not like that for everyone. Some people heal quickly. I was a student at the time, so sweat pants were fine. I think I had ten pairs of them...lol.
It takes about 6 weeks to totally heal..I have a crease too and it didn't bother it at all
Ooops... I didn't put 2 + 2 together.   I wasn't hooping when I got my navel pierced.  I can't imagine trying to do it now.
Go for it.  Get whatever you feel comfortable with!  Hooping and belly piercings go really well together, IMO. I got my tongue as my first piercing and love it, I'm considering doing my nape next...don't know if that will be an issue with hooping or not
I wish I never got anything pierced. I know it is gross but soap scum accumulates in the hole when you aren't wearing your jewelry and it gets nasty. I have a ton of piercings and never wear jewelry anymore (I outgrew it) and regret having them done. So please make sure that is what you want.
I've had my belly button pierced since I was 14 and I've had no problems. The worst is the first couple weeks when u have to clean it 2 times a day but after that is over with I you can enjoy it :)
