Starting the 20th my boyfriend, myself, and our two fur babies (an American bulldog named Deg and a cat named Aphro Desia) will be started on our first big travel adventure. We will be coming from east coast and headed to the enchanting west coast to dance, sing, and camp amongst new friends and towering redwood forests.
We are doing this on a low budget, and were hoping to find any tips on travel, attractions or accommodations, from locals or others who have possibly been to the same places. Any suggestions would be wonderful as well! We are visiting places such as Asheville, NC. Nashville, TN. Memphis, TN. Jackson, MS. New Orleans, LA. and where ever else we may find alluring.
Maybe even, we could be friends if we come to your home town :)!

Permalink Reply by Grateful Hooper on September 20, 2012 at 1:03pm I either save up and and go on a road trip, or I bring a lot of crafts and find places to sell them while on the road like in front of shows such as furthur. It's an easy fun way to make enough gas money to get to the next place :]
Permalink Reply by cassandra thomas on September 20, 2012 at 12:10pm YAY!! so exciting :) last fall my boyfriend and i drove across the country, from new hampshire to california. we took our time with it and went out of the way to explore the nature in utah and nevada especially. We lived in california for three months then drove back across the country... best experience ever!!
I would HIGHLY recommend looking into KOA campgrounds (kampgrounds of america) they are EVERYWHERE! we loved these campgrounds and stayed at them at various spots across the country. They average $20 a night and each site has a fire pit bathrooms and showers :)
we never really had a plan from day to day, we did whatever we felt like, so to make it easier we would locate campgrounds near us around the time we started to tire from driving all day.
if you have a gps or smartphone i would suggest looking up local campgrounds once you get within an hour or two away from calling it a night... it's amazing how many camping spots there are hiding across the US
enjoy yourself! i can't wait until our next roadtrip this spring <3
Permalink Reply by Grateful Hooper on September 20, 2012 at 1:02pm Woop woop gotta love the sixohtree <3 That's where I was born and raised but I migrated away this year in order to travel around. When I was staying in Virginia earlier this year my boyfriend and I stayed at this park that was magical and at night the fireflies were everywhere so i felt like I was in an enchanted forest :] Camping in different places is definitely one of the best things about traveling!
