I haven't heard of the LED hoop that you're talking about, but I may have missed it (??).
I am curious about their hoops,too, because when I compare theirs to other LED hoops it looks as if they don't distribute the lights evenly throughout the hoop. . . but I hope I'm wrong about that!

The lights in a Trick Concepts LED hoop are all strung by hand in their shop, but thankfully if you ever end up with a flaw in the lights, they'll fix it for free!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my hoop from Trick Concepts. You are right, they used to have one that broke down into minis on their site but it doesn't look like it's still available. I would try contacting them to see why they discontinued this hoop. I've put some wear and tear on mine and it's still in great shape. If it gets wet (I would not recommend hooping in a rain shower) you will have to replace the battery. The batteries last about 4 hours before the hoop turns red to let you know to recharge. I'd recommend getting two b/c the charger holds two batteries and then you can keep on hoopin! I've had multiple people compliment my on my hoop and I think it has a very stunning effect especially when it twinkles. The lights are evenly spread out and it changes color scheme (blues and pinks to greens and yellows) but also goes through the rainbow. It looks like they have a custom 32 LED option that they didn't have when I purchased mine if you want a certain color scheme. Another note, they offer a 1 year warranty on the LED's as long as damage isn't because you bent the tubing when coiling it up. Hope my long winded answer helps you out :)
