Trick/Move that you had the most trouble with and the best piece of advice someone gave you

Just wondering what moves everyone out there had the most trouble learning and if there was one thing that someone said or a new way of looking at it that "unlocked" it for you.  Its amazing how one phrase can make you go "ooooohhhh! I get it!" or if you helped someone "get" a move just by explaining it a different way.

horizontal elbow pass!!  I am still waiting for that great piece of advice :)

SQUEEEEEZ YOUR SHOULDER BLADES TOGETHER AND BEND AT 90 DEGREES

You know, I thought of the squeezing today when I was working on the vertical elbow pass and I did it successfully for the first time (and 6 more times after that! Thank you!
Yay... thank you so much!!! it worked!  They (the elbows) have been way too far apart in the past.
Ohhh, thanks!  I'll focus on the squeeze and hopefully have more consistent success with this move.

I'm still having problems with angled hooping. and knee hooping, went ahead and learned the tricks past it in the hoopnotica videos, on video 4 but still can't get these two... very frustrating. If anyone has any advice let me know!

Tons of practice on the knees.  accent whatever is facing the sky for angled (really bop your chest towards the sky, etc.)

ohhhh, knee hooping is a hard one! for knee hooping i think of each knee doing a small circle when the hoop touches it. So you alternate knee pushing, left right left right left right etc....(the circles go in the same direction) Keep your knees relaxed and about HIP width apart, letting your heels come off the ground as your knees alternately push on the hoop. by keeping your legs relaxed and being able to shift your weight to either foot  lets you gain the ability to be able to walk and knee hoop at the same time. and i wouldn't try to learn knee hooping with your smallest hoop. yes it will hurt more with a larger heavier hoop but its worth it to get the skill down. oh! and put some shorts on! learning to knee hoop is way easier if you amp up the skin to hoop ratio! good luck!

i keep my right leg straight and use the left the "push" the hoop around the kids I teach call it the "potty dance" because that's what it looks like when you're first learning

A couple of times I've noticed what comes natural isn't necessarily what they are demonstrating in the tutorial, and knee hooping was an example of this me.  I was getting conflicting info about which leg should stand, which should be the pusher.  For some reason, Caroleeena's video on it where she talks about whether you are a forward/back hooper or side to side hooper really did it for me.  I don't know why!

Also, practice knee hooping wearing jeans or your bare skin.  The hoop will stick easier and once you know the feeling you could translate that to other pants and adapt as necessary!

thank you! I will try that tomorrow after work!
so far angled hooping facing down... i can do it fine with my face up but... im constantly hitting myself in the neck and  face and the hoop goes crazy when i'm looking at the ground... i haven't found that good bit of advice yet... so i just keep practicing and hope i dont end up with a bruised face :)
