I am looking at investing in a nice video recording camera. I want a camera to take on the road with me when I got to festivals and such and I also want it for the purposes of recording some of my fire and hoop dancing.

I dont know much about camcorders. So Im asking you what features on a video camera do you look for? Especially for someething like fire dancing. I dont want there to be a glare when I make a video and it has to be good in the dark. I looking at spending no more than $350 and it doesnt have to be from online. Would you recommend HD video recording if I am using the video to upload on youtube or something? Is it really all that neccessary? I dont need you to send me a specific link to a camera. Just curious as to what features I should look into and something that will definetly work good for fire. Thanks :)

You definitely want HD. It gives you better resolution and more cropping or panning options if you want to edit it into a smaller format.

For me, waterproof & dustproof is a requirement, since I often film outside and don't like coddling my gear. I just bought a Nikon Coolpix AW100 which is a digital camera with HD video. It has lots of actually useful bells and whistles.

I like the results I've gotten so far, but I haven't filmed any fire with it yet.
