so awesome! i keep meeting new hoopers almost every day in the real world!
can't wait to meet a hooper in real life haha
I guess we don't have a lot of hoopers here in Holland.

Time to take my hoop into the streets and introduce hooping in holland.
Let's make this a global craze ;)
By all means take your hoop to the streets! Vive la révolution!
maybe in a few months, when I can hoop like you guys, for now I'll just smash my livingroom ;)
The site has hoopers of all levels! I have only been hooping 6 months, others have been hooping 6 years, and others have been hooping 6 days. I'm sure there are some who just started hooping 6 hours ago!
Okay, be prepared for a long lecture here! I just want you to know that I am both shy & klutzy by nature. I had a horrible time in gym class as a kid-- I was nervous & super-skinny & always getting hurt due to my weakness & a complete lack of confidence & skill. It didn't take long before I had convinced myself I was terminally uncoordinated. I'm still actually afraid to catch a ball-- not quite phobic but seriously afraid. And I have all-too-vivid memories of being razzed for my klutziness. In other words I was definitely not someone who you'd expect to do anything physical in public, ever!

I'm still not quite sure why I felt compelled to take up the hoop (I started seven months ago), but I count it as one of the best things that ever happened to me. It's the hoop that has given me a second chance to be a child-- to try new things at the risk of looking silly, getting bumps & bruises, being frustrated. In the process I've discovered that I'm not a terminal klutz after all!

But the reason I'm telling you this is that long before I had any real skill at the tricks, I discovered the joy of turning others on to hooping. There is nothing like the feeling of passing the hoop-love along! I've given hoops as birthday presents to all my nieces, my mom & sister, my friends, anybody who shows any interest. I've taught all sorts of people to do waist hooping & other basic tricks-- friends, relatives, strangers, young & old. And the smiles on their faces are the most wonderful reward!

You definitely DON'T need to be an expert to spread the hoop-love! In fact it almost helps to be a newbie yourself, because it's more like sharing a learning experience-- you can vividly recall the difficulties & identify with your pupils. And just think of all the happiness you can bring to the universe!

So don't wait to take it to the streets. Trust me, you'll be glad you took the plunge!
yes! i totally agree on spreading the hoop love! a month ago i was at 10thousandlakes festival and i brought my hoops with an assload of tubing for making hoops. all the new friends i just met each made a hoop of their own, i showed them how and i provided them with tape ("cheap" hockey tape, but whatever... :) ) they all loved that i brought the tubing and they were able to choose the size and thickness they wanted. i didn't charge money, although maybe i shouldhave, i woulda made alot of $. but i'd rather spread the word than try to sell the word
