"Our life is what our thoughts make it"

So LET'S make it GOOD!

Just pause. Take a moment to shift your awareness to the abundance in your life. Feel the goodness that everything around you can offer. Share your appreciations for today with us :) I appreciate Sarah Dwiizie for describing what this is all about, perfectly. Abundance.

For today, I appreciate:

~seeing a friend over the weekend that has moved away
~the game we played, "dicecapades"
~starting new hoop classes today
~the sunny, mild weather in Memphis over the weekend
~setting a goal to start a yoga practice again and actually doing it! Went to my second class on Sat.
~biking
~being motivated every day to be healthier, mentally and physically
~being sore (from yoga and biking) and loving it. It's a good sore :)

Looking forward to reading yours :) And thankful for the Daily Happiness forum :)

In lieu of Thanksgiving... I have lots!

For today, I appreciate:

- my family- for supporting me in every decision I make
- my mother
- the Amtrak!
- feeling loved :)
- my new boots that I am IN LOVE with (even though they make my feet stink hehe)
Thanks Kristin! Yeah, this thread can be like a year-round giving of thanks :) It's wonderful to have a supportive family, and to feel loved.
hehe so true! And by giving thanks and seeing what you appreciate will reveal all the happiness you have in your life :)

My family is and always will be number one in my life- and with a lot of recent change, it is so great to know that they stand by me no matter what- they step back and allow me to grow, making my own decisions- it means so much to have their support and love. And there is nothing better then feeling that love daily! I am so thankful that I got to go home to see my family over thanksgiving, and send time with them! And to hoop with my mom ;) hehe She LOVES hooping too!
I, like most people, have a LOT to be thankful for! I like the idea, though, of concentrating on one or two things each day and being mindful of those blessings throughout the day. It's like devoting attention to individual things rather than just vaguely being grateful for everything. LOL! So, this thread has inspired me to pick one or two things each morning to be particularly grateful for.

Today, I will start with the biggie. Probably the first thing that comes to the minds of most people when they are asked what they are grateful for - HEALTH! Despite it being a common answer to the "what are you grateful for" question, I think on a daily basis we all take our health for granted until something happens and we're not-so-healthy. I know I am guilty of this.

So, for today I am going to be mindful of the fact that I am in excellent health generally. Sure an illness here or there, a chronic back and neck problem, but nothing that prevents me from doing all my daily activities and then some! Without health, most of the other blessings in life wouldn't be possible. We may be thankful for our hooping, our jobs, our homes, food, and other basic necessities of life that many people are lacking, etc., but if we didn't have our health, we might not have those other things. Poor health can also affect personal relationships, which are another thing people are often grateful for. Sometimes when we are sick or injured, we lash out at people in our pain and frustration. Would we be surrounded by loving family members and friends if a chronic illness or condition caused us to be miserable to be around?

So today I am going to remember that everything I do and everything I have is possible (at least in part) to my good health!
Yes, so happy SaFire ventured in to making this forum!

Today (and everyday) I am thankful for:
-Being alive, being healthy, and being able.
-The few family members I have that love me for WHO I am
-Friends! Can't live without 'em :)
-Making baby steps in eating healthier (maybe start meditating/yoga soon?)

I think is it sooo important that we take time from each day to remember that even when we don't think times are good, we still have so much to be grateful for. This life was given to us to make what we want of it, so why not make it one full of happiness :)
I am so happy today!

My mom is the worst gift giver because she always ruins the surprise by telling me what she is getting me! Anyway, she told me that she is getting me a sewing machine for Christmas. I am so excited! I used to love to sew and create things. I started when I was 8 years old making quilts and things for my dolls. As I got older I would make clothes and accessories for myself and friends... I had a fire in 2004 and lost all of my possessions, including my sewing machine and creations, paintings etc. I haven't really created anything other than hoops since then. I guess it seemed sort of overwhelming to start over. Where to begin?.. Ya know? Well, this feels so good to me. Yesterday my mom told me she was getting me a sewing machine and today I found Stitch Rippers and signed up! There is so much inspiration there. It feels "meant to be". Thank you SaFire!

Oh! And I am excited because my mom always gives me an itunes gift card in my stocking. I am already making a list of new songs I would love to hoop to! :D
For the last three weeks I have been extremely grateful for my car, my garage, and my home. When the mercury drops to -30 celcius, these things I usually take for granted become so important.
Doing good today!

~being more conscious of relaxing the tension in my jaw
~out-of-the-dryer clothes this morning to cut the chill :)
~the beautiful pocket watch necklace I got a few weeks ago. It feels so good around my neck!
~scarves
~had one of the best group of students in a hoop dance intro class last night. they were all there early, attentive, eager, and fun!
Today is awesome!

- woke up feeling very awake and rested!
- wearing my new boots that are sooooo warm!
- accessorized my outfit today with an amazing feather headband - very fall festive with its orange colors!
- working on my portfolio for a possible job interview (fingers crossed!!!)
- my grandmother in town visiting- she is my best friend and we have a blast together!!

YAY for today!
Ooooh! All sounds good :) Man.. nothing beats waking up rested and in a good mood because of it!
I agree, and it seems like everything is going your way that day! Great music on the ride to work, sun shining... just a perfect start! :)
I'll third that - nothing beats waking up feeling well rested, refreshed and energized. It just starts the whole day off right! Like you can tackle anything as long as you got your sleep!
