Usually on a ..."sick day" i'm all alone home and I can work out all of the tricks I can't when people are around. But now i feel so sick because of the cold going around school and I don't even want to move
any tips to get better faster? I feel like I'm betraying my hoops.. they look so lonely.. I think i can feel my muscles leaving my body. hooping every single day and then not today just feels so terrible! :(
Be kind to yourself! Give yourself time to get well. Since you're laid up in bed, watch hoop videos. Go to YouTube and watch videos and make a playlist of videos with moves you want to learn. Treat this as a study time. Athletes study videos to learn and to grow. Consider it hooping in your head. And feel better!
I agree with Caroleena, tons of rest, watch lots and lots of videos, and Hot Chicken soup always makes me feel better!!! You can also take a notepad and write down moves in different orders that you want to perform them, like a hoop choreography notebook!
Aw I hope you feel better soon! When I'm sick or just not in a hooping mood, I browse hoop vids. And also, whenever I'm sick with cold-like symptoms, I drink an insane amount of hot green tea with honey. It always helps at least a little!
just pick it up and do the most energy conservative moves you know, sometimes i like to sit indian legged and hoop around my neck with my eyes closed. hula hoopers meditation pose, takes almost no energy, and is very repetitive and relaxing
go through really bad withdrawals. :)jk, kinda, i was so sick last wednesday up until sunday. i wanted to hoop so bad but just couldnt do it.... sooooo.... instead i just wrote down tricks i wanted to learn or organized any hoop stuff i had on comp or go on this fabulous community and post blogs about hooping... ooooor :) look for new music to hoop to.
When I am sick and don't feel like moving much I just practice isolations. If you have a mini hoop then it would be super easy. You can even practice while lying in bed. Another option is to practice foot hooping. What is great about that is you can lay down and practice. Even just laying down and spinning the hoop above you helps.
The most important thing is to make sure you get better though. If you don't feel up to doing any of those things then do what Caroleeena said. You need time to rest.
I would say just to let your body rest. Drink warm fluids, stay in bed, and give your body time to heal. Pushing yourself to keep hooping like crazy during this your sickness only means that you'll be sick for longer.
If you want to get better faster, I recommend saving your energy by not hooping for a day or two. Just watch videos and make lists of tricks you want to learn instead. Never underestimate the power of...
DRINKING WATER!! Water is the best cleanser there is for our bodies, make sure you're getting enough of it. Take vitamins and relax and think getting better thoughts. It'll be over before you know it.
