What does your spouse/significant other think of hooping?

So we have a thread on random comments, but what about the person who is the closest to you? Do they like hooping? Content to just watch? Spin their own toys? Do they hate it and it's a source of contention between you?

My husband has tried to hoop a few times but really just spins it once and runs away, haha. However, he is super supportive and always eager to see new things I have learned. He'll help with photos or videos, tries to track down supplies for me or make new suggestions of things to use in hoop making, basically he gets really excited along with me and will listen and watch whatever I want him to regarding it. I love his support and was wondering what your relationships are like in regards to hooping for you guys :)

my boyfriend is also very supportive, he spins poi balls and he really loves that we both can be entertainment to people :) we are always excited for eachother when one of us learns something new !
my boyfriend is really supportive of it. he usually does it with me and if i have performances, he's my hoop man. he likes being there, watching me and helping me carry things AND taking pictures. he also helps in making me realize what i'm capable of. i started using two hoops at about 3-4 months thanks to him because i didnt think i could do it. when i knew i could do that, i started practicing three on my own and nailed it. when i showed him he was so proud of me :) i try to teach him basic tricks and he does pretty good. he helps me design and tape hoops (and i can pretty much say hes better than me at it) i love our relationship and the support he offers me. he tells me i'm his favorite hooper and i've been doing great for the 6 months that i've been hooping. i just absolutely love everything we do together that involves hooping because its my two favorite things in the world put together. sorry for ranting, i'm just really glad that he is the way he is.

i love you jon!
"he also helps in making me realize what i'm capable of"

Yes, I totally agree with this! There are a few things I had originally shrugged off, but when my husband keeps singing my praises and going, "you almost did it!!!" with glee in his eyes even though I barely had it (ie was not even close to doing it), it really is inspiring and makes me realize that hey, I just might be able to do this. :)
Very supportive, though not into hooping. I'd be so sad if I were in a situation where my loved ones were against my hooping!
My husband is supportive. He is extremely sarcastic and he used to almost "mock" me when I hooped (it makes me laugh). He does like to watch me hoop and see what I am doing with it and what I am learning.

And Shhh! Don't tell, but he started hooping last week! He is just trying, I think, but he just tries when he gets a chance and whatnot. It is really cute. He won't hoop in public, though, for a long time...
At first, my boyfriend was somewhat reluctant and didn't quite understand my infactuation with my hoop. As I started to really dive deep and hoop continuously, he began to offer tidbits, watch me when I say "look at this new trick I learned," and even help me with my hoop making. Now he takes my pictures/videos, has made me a "hoop tree" to hang my hoops, helps me organize hoop events (well, my one hoop event haha), encourages me to be better and try new things, and he even tells people how good I am and wants them to watch me. And to think he almost joked me when I started to hoop. I think he secretly wants to learn, but every once in a while he'll grab my hoop and when I'm not looking, give it a twirl. It's so cute. I tried to get him into staff or dart and he is kind of one not into bringing too much attention to himself. That's cool with me. I'm glad he'll just be my hoop wing man :).
My husband is mostly supportive. He definitely likes watching and taking pictures. He especially likes when I hoop naked for him :)

The only thing he doesn't really like is if I take my hoop to a show then I don't dance with him as much. But I try to remind him that it also serves as a force field to keep the creepy guys away. I tend to draw attention even when I'm dancing without a hoop so creepy guys are always a problem. He also doesn't really like how rude some of them can be. The picturing taking isn't so bad but sometimes they try to hump my hoop or something ridiculous and pervy like that.
my boyfriend is wonderful, he helps me with measurements when i'm making hoops cuz i'm terrible with that...he suggests patterns and he's even designed hoops by himself. although he won't actually hoop, he's so supportive of me. he spends hours watching me hoop, taking pics and vids and never gets impatient. he drove me two hours to a hoop jam on world hoop day cuz i dont have a car. we were there literally all day, and he never complained of boredom once.

i love him!! <3

p.s. i'm very happy to see that no one had posted anything yet saying that their loved ones are anti-hooping. how sad would that be!?
My boyfriend is anti-hooping in public places such as shows and what not. He likes me to hoop in the privacy of our neighborhood and he doesn't mind if people are over and I'm hooping, or if I am simply hooping with girlfriends. He is encouraging, and tells his friends how good I am which makes me feel good. I can understand why he doesn't appreciate me hooping at shows when I'm not "performing" or supposed to be hooping though.

Over all he is supportive and enjoys to watch me hoop it up!
He likes watching me hoop a lot and even tried to hoop and had a good time trying! :D
I'm lucky, my boy spin poi. He's been spinning for 7 years so it's fun to talk about how we've changed and grown through our props over time.
That's really neat. What an adventure! Yesterday I was asking my husband if he would be interested in spinning poi cuz he tells me all the time hooping is for girls and gay guys (not true!). He said we'll look at making him some poi to try though. I think it'd be a lot of fun to learn stuff together.
