So with my job, I have ONE week mandatory vacation. I work like 25-30 hours a week and am a full time student. So it has to be in the summer (although burning man and symbiosis are tempting). I have decided that I am going to do it big for a week and go to a festival, go early stay late if I can, so I have something to look forward to. I wanted to make sure I pick the right one. Does anyone have suggestions?

I have only been to Schwagstocks (smaller festy in MO) and Summercamp 2008. I honestly really liked Summercamp, big but not too big. Also, I really like the idea of camping in nature, not hotels and I don't know about when they set it up like camping with your car in a grass made parking lot. I obviously hoop, and love art and music (i'm down with chill music, bluegrass, but i LOVE DUBSTEP). Oh and I really want to be able and work the festival! and I really want to go WEST, i've never been but it doesn't have to be...

THOUGHTS??

Bonnaroo is where I was first exposed to hoopdance. I've been 3 years in a row.. I dunno if I'm going this summer though. It's in Manchester Tennessee. A festival I really wanna go to is one called Sasquatch in Washington state. I also have wanted to go to Rothbury for a few years now. We shall see..
Earth Dance. Laytonville CA. Great Music, beautiful landscape, that's where I first saw Spiral hoopdancing to India Arie. Amazing line up every year, and everyone is gathered with the intention of peace. nothing better in my opinion. good luck with you decision
THERE ARE DIFFRENT COMPANYS YOU CAN SIGN UP WITH TO WORK FESTIVALS. IVE SIGNED UP WITH ,WET . THEY WILL SEND YOU EMAILS FOR DIFFRENT FESTYS. YOU CAN ALWAYS JUST LOOK ON THE FESTIVAL OF CHOICES WEB CITE TO FIND APPLICATIONS TO WORK FOR THEM. YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER WHEN YOU WORK A FESTY YOU WILL PROB MISS A FEW SHOWS CAUSE OF YOUR DUTIES BUT EVERYONE I KNOW THAT VOLUNTEERS USUALLY HAS A SAY IN WHAT THEY DO AND WHAT TIMES BUT EVERY FESTIVAL WILL HAVE DIFFRENT MANDITORY HRS YOU HAVE TO PUT IN, ECT.SO OTHER THAN MAYBE MISSING A FEW SHOWS AND HAVING TO PICK UP TRASH ITS WELL WORTH IT IF YOUR BROKE. A FREIND OF MINES HOLE SUMER WAS BASED ON VOLUNTERING. SHE WORKED 4 OR 5 FESTIVALS LAST SUMMER ALL OVER COUNTRY. THERE ARE TONS OF KICK ASS FESTIVALS TO ATTEND ALL OVER THE WEST COAST. YOU SHOULDNT HAVE A PROB FINDING ONE FOR YOUR TAST OR ONE TO WORK, JUST SIGN UP NOW, MIGHT GET A BETTER JOB THE SOONER YOU SIGN UP

Schwagtock is the only one I've been to. I LOVE it there! It's home :) I have a few friends that do Bonaroo & Wakarusa though. They say those are amazing! Maybe I can see you at Schwag sometime!
ill be seeing you at schwag!
Oregon Country fair is a complete blast! It's just outside of eugene, Oregon in the woods. It's a three day festival with music, art, vendors, and entertainers everywhere. Everybody is super friendly and the atmosphere is completely magical. I had a blast last summer and wont miss a year from here on out :)

Check it out on google and youtube. If you do decide to go, I would recommend you stay at the camp called darling reunion, or quiet camp((not so quiet))...
