Is it just me or has the amount of discussions, replies, etc totally dwindled since the contest was over? It makes me sad... I'm still replying to discussions all day long, but before my inbox was FULL 24/7 with replies, etc.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays... I know I will :)

happy hoopin

Yeah I was afraid that would happen, Hoopcity has gone back to the way it was before the free prizes! Kind of a bummer, I like all the new activity :(

Hoopy Holidaze to you <3

I agree! i totally was excited to hear lots of responses & creative names for my Wine Name Help post, but most of the activity has passed with the end of the contes. I;m still thankful for the creative input I get!

At the risk of sounding like a total beezy, I am actually a little relieved. There were a million new threads started on topics that have already been had. It would have been nice to see those older threads brought to life again and added to because there was a lot of great info there. I really didn't want to post again for the third time how I got my hooping name for instance.

I think it is kind of sad that we got this frenzy of activity from people who (as we can see now) were only doing it in hopes of winning a prize. It would have been really nice to see some prizes go to some of the people on here who have been active participants all along. Tangled Macrame, Circular Praise, Satina, Rose, GroovinMegz, Kinetic Kristin, Lisa Love, Eternal Voyager.. to name a few.  I was stoked to see Caroleeena win. She really deserved it.

I am glad the frenzy is over. It feels like for the last couple weeks Hoop City has been like a race. Everybody just running running running, posting as much as they possibly can. And now we can slow down... walk, breathe, and enjoy the scenery. **Sigh of relief**

I agree with you on that too! I've always read through & replied on discussions and such, but I did notice that a LOT was repeat over the past few weeks!

I guess this way we will at least know who the real active users are! & you're right, some of the people who won I had never seen or noticed a post by them before the 12 Days Giveaway...

xoxo

LOL Yeah! Almost every day I was like "Who the heck is that!!??" I have never heard of them and I have been on Hoop City almost every day for over a year! (No offense to anyone who won.. Congrat's!)

Thanks for including me in your list. :)  I kind of felt like I'd gotten away from HC for a while - busy with writing and job and whatnot, I suppose.  But I think it's like anything else we do - we go through phases of being super-involved to being busy with/distracted by other things.

I'm just glad I have such a cool community to participate in here.  I'd love it if there were more hoopers locally, but until that happens, I'm happy I have my HC family.  Of course, as more people get into the hoop where I live, I'll naturally point them here... ;)

I do the same! I had a bunch of people ask me about me LED hoop at a rave a few weeks ago and I told every one of them to check out Hoopcity :)

It's fun, isn't it?  Heck, I don't even have to tell people any more - the pastor of my church has said at least twice (from the pulpit on a Sunday morning, no less!) that people should check out my videos on Hoop City.  No pressure there... ;)

Love that :-) Cool pastor !

Yeah, we like him. :)  He's into horses and karate and is a school teacher, married to a school teacher, and they have four kids. Busy much?

Can't hoop worth anything though; he did try, and he moved every body part except what should have been moving!

Word

yeah i've only been on this site for about 7 months now but i kind of saw that coming. It's sad that the growing number of hoopers that are very interested in spinning toys, just because it looks cool. So of course they are going to be as active as possible to get the coolest toys. But the way the contest was set up was still pretty random ( top ten had name drawn from hat). If you think about it mathematically (can't believe i'm saying this i hate math) the odds a new hooper is going to win compared to a old hooper is pretty big. There are so many new hoopers (myself included).
