Hi there,
I have just discovered hooping and was wondering if anyone else was from Canberra?
It looks like the closest meet ups and classes are all in Sydney so thought I would ask :)
I am a complete beginner and have just ordered my first couple of hoops from Melbourne - any tips on how fellow Aussies learned to hoop most welcome!
Thanks for reading <3

I am a hooper in Canberra. I mostly learned from watching circus videos on the Internet before tutorial videos were more common, now it is pretty easy to learn from all the tutorials out there.
If you are keen to maybe do some lessons, i teach a general circus class from adults at the Warehouse Circus in Canberra. It is a pretty free form class so we can defenatly do lots of hooping and you could also learn some other cool things that will help you with your hooping. I think that the first class is free so nothing to lose if you want to come check it out.
If your keen check out our website and send an email to get some more information. www.warehousecircus.org.au
There is also a nice little hoop jam that is some times organized by a friend of mine for the details check out this face book event and maybe contact the organizer to see if you can find out when the next one might be on

Also this long week end is the national folk festival, i will be performing hoops and there should be a few other hoopers hanging around maybe jamming, there was last year.
Hopefully catch you around some where in canberra.

Hi hoopers, my name is Kelly (Fairy Flow Hula Hooping and Yoga) I run hoop workshops in Canberra, I cater to all levels. I have been hooping for over 6 years and love it. Originally from BC Canada I have found myself transplanted in Canberra, and sad to see there wasn't much of a hoop community I started my own classes. I also do yoga.
My hoop workshops run once every few months and are a 5 week program jam packed with tricks and fun stuff to practice while you wait for the next one.
I absolutely love hooping and want to share the spinny goodness with everyone I meet.
If you want more information on the next workshop I am happy to add you to my mailing list, or you can follow me on facebook
or email me at kelly.fairyflow@gmail.com
Happy hooping all
