Hey Bass heads. I'm a Hooper and a DJ, and I think a lot about the hoopability of certain tunes. In preparation for Swhoop 2011 (http://www.hoopingmad.co.uk/events/swhoop-2011/) where I will be Djing at the L.E.D ball, I need to improve my DJing specifically for a hooping audience... This is where I need the help from you guys  :)  

Fortunately at Swhoop I will have enough time on the decks to cross alot of genres over the night in my own time. But I wanted to play with the idea of recording a mix that quite rapidly (every one, two or three songs mixes between tempo's). I love dnb/jungle/breakcore/dubstep, but I agree with alot of you, that dubstep some how matches the frequency of a (1m diameter e.g) spinning hoop. yet somehow it feels great to push the hoop into different speeds and get chaotic! So here's how you could help me. In about a weeks time I will post a link to a mix, and if you'd be so kind as to use my mix during a practice session and give me some feed back, I would be very grateful. In the mean time before I make the mix, has anybody who has thought about tempo's got any thing to report about tempo's, bpm with regard to hooping? Any speeds which just don't work for them. exact bpm's that really do work? I think I will create a discussion group called "Hooping tempos". Maybe reply there so this main page doesn't get taken over by my project!

You know whats even better than just regular old sweet hooping with Dubstep, well LED sequenced microprocessor hooping with Dubstep!!!! :)

Well after reading this thread, I'm not sure if you're trying to find more stuff like Bassnectar, but I'm a huge dnb girl who <3 some BASS. @ AmaraZingara- I have the same tattoo! Mine's inside a star with notes around it on my front shoulder blade. I got it in memory of one of my best friends after he passed away. he was one of the best bass players I knew.
& I love bassnectar!
