Hi hoopers,

Just wanted to let you know about MadSkillz Vancouver happening this year, June 20-23rd. 

We have Gail O'Brien coming this year from Ireland to perform and teach at our festival. I hung out with her last September and she is an awesome being :)

If you don't know about MadSkillz here is a quick description. MadSkillz is an annual 'prop manipulation' festival in Vancouver, organized by few people in the community, including hoopers like Alley Oop (runs weekly hoop jam(thurs) and prop jam(wed) and Christa Giles(runs Saturday Circus)).

The format of the festival runs similar to a traditional juggling festival. Which means we've got a whole bunch of workshops for a whole bunch of props at all levels, serious and silly shows,  fun games, live music and overall a good time.

Hi everyone,

We are planning to host four public hooping events on Granville Street this coming August.  We already got a go ahead from the City and have found an event sponsor (The Downtown Business Association).  But we cannot make this happen unless we can find a team of volunteers to help us host the events.

We will need about 8 to 10 volunteers with some basic hooping experience to help us organize the event during those four days. 

Please contact us if you are interested in lending us a hand and/or if you want to promote hula hooping to the public.  The event is non-profit and non-commercial.

Hey folks..

Would anyone be interested in a weekly/biweekly prop jam in Port Moody? The owner where I work is willing to let me use our facilities (lots of space) after hours for a small cost, I'm just trying to gauge interest to see if it would be worth it!

aw thats great! if any of you girls are in Vancouver let me know! :) also there is a juggling festival in Jan in Victoria that will have tons of hula hoop workshops - you should check it out! meet tons of great ppl

Well, I have a two car garage thats empty for hooping in ( heated )

We can always hook up and hoop together. I am out in the West shore area thought, pretty much as far from Sidney as you can get.
