My boyfriend and I are intrested in learning about homebrewing...Any suggestions on reading material, and where to start with buying the best most affordable supplies?

What's your "go-to" beer?

Okay, so I know we all have favorites... but it's not always easy to get them (or nice on the wallet). So when your in the mood, and can only make it to the corner store or grocery, what do you…

whats your favorite brew?

I love trying new beer but i feel like i've tried all the good ones. Any suggestions? I'm a wheat beer lover, my favorites are boulevard; Stella Artois, leinenkugel, and red stripe.

So I was in a workshop with Baxter this weekend, and he was joking around about his love for beer. Someone once told him his motto should be "Coffee. Hoop. Beer. Hoop Path." So I took him a few of my home brews to sample. Have to wait and see what his opinion is.

So I emailed the ladies who are starting the Jackalope brewery, and got a reponse yesterday! They said to stop by on my next visit to Nashville and they will show me around the place! Maybe free beer samples?!

Hi there! At the core I am just a beer lover too! I just got in to home brewing recently. Way to support local brews :) And thanks for joining the group... I look forward to sharing in our love of beer here.

Not a home brewer (no room on my apartment) but def a beer lover. I Live in NYC and the Brooklyn Brewery is practically my second home (Friday night happy hour and open Saturday for tours and drinks). They also have a 'mascot', Monster, who has a beer named after him and his own FB Page!

The brewery often has special brews that only found there or at local pubs for a limited time. Sometimes there is even a Cask Ale available.

Yay, another homebrewer! We can start a discussion on it later, but we just made our first batch in September and are still enjoying it. For the first time we just cloned something we like - Dogfish Head 60 IPA (Megan who commented below also helped!). We would like to do a stout next, but are waiting to save up a bit of cash and we kinda want to jump right in to all-grain brewing. A spiced porter sounds pretty tasty. Thanks for being here!

I home brew. I just took a bunch of my new spiced porter to Thanksgiving dinner. Not as strong as some of the pumpkin seasonals that come out this time of year. It has a very subtle pumpkin pie under note that works very well. Also have a Old School American IPA in bottle. Not as hoppy as I'd hoped it would be though but still 100% better than any rice swill they've convinced most Americans is beer.
