Hey Ashley!  Welcome!  I don't know about the Jacksonville area, but there are a few of us hoopers in the Cape Lookout area (Beaufort).  There was a hoop jam happening on Sunday afternoons.  Honestly, I've been traveling a lot these last few weekends and haven't made it to the jam in a while.  I'll find out if it's still going on if you're interested in heading to Beaufort.

I've never been to a hoop jam. I don't know that I'm ready to hoop in front of so many other people yet. I've only had my hoop a couple weeks. I was hoping to meet someone nearby who could teach me a few things or just someone to practice with. Maybe by the time they have another I'll have enough nerve to go.lol.

Hey Ashley,

Don't worry about your skill level.  One of the things I love about the hooping community is the willingness to teach new hoopers and the support for leaning new techniques. Hoop jams are great places to watch and interact with more skilled hoopers, and learn from them. Everyone starts from the beginning, and everyone drops their hoop.  Shoot me a note to my inbox if you ever want to check out our tiny little jam.

that sounds so nice :) thank you for the invite, that's about and hr and a half away from me. do they do it every sunday,what about when it starts to cool down? i'm definitely interested in coming but may have to wait until after the holidays b/c of the gas it would take but please don't forget about me :D
