I need to find some hooper ladies in Denver, I'm new in town and I miss my East Coast hoopers!!! I haven't been improving much since being away from other hoopers and would love to get some practice!

There are multiple weekly jams in Boulder and Denver. Hope one or more of these fit your needs. There is such a great community of hoopers in Denver/Boulder/Golden. Welcome to Colorado :)

The Wednesday night 8-11pm $5 Boulder Circus Jam is in an incredible indoor space with wood floors, huge ceilings, full length wall mirrors. Best practice place on the front range, hands down. There are spinners who come from Denver every week.

The Sunday Circus Sessions at Guildwerks, 3821 Steele Street, Denver, Colorado 80205 in Denver is from 7-11pm with a minimum of $5 donation (more is appreciated to pay for space/instructors). Each week a different community instructor leads a unique topic of instruction. You can jam or participate in the instruction. The space is big with carpet floors, a stage, sound, and big ceilings. No mirrors.

The Fusion Factory has a free jam on Sundays starting at 5pm. This is an art gallery type space with a good sound system (and DJs). There are big ceilings, no mirrors, and concrete floors. Use hoops that you don't mind getting chewed up a little by the floors. There is usually a black light on, which is fun with neon gaffer taped hoops and white clothes.

We (the Spin Summit) hosts Summit Spin Jams in different locations each month where we hike to a spot to have a spin jam. The jam is free, though donations are appreciated.

Happy Hooping!

Hey SpinSummit - i'm pretty new to hooping, do you suggest any one of those groups specifically for someone who's still trying to learn?

All the jams are welcome to spinners of all levels. There are absolute beginners to professionals that attend these jams. Jams are a time to practice and play. Feel inspired,  not intimidated by being a new hooper. You are exactly where you need to be on your hoop journey.

Our personal fav is the Boulder Circus Jam... it is the most reliable weekly jam, always filled with good people and a great container to practice.

Thanks so much for posting this info! I am new to the hooping scene and am moving to Denver the end of February from the RFV. I am very excited to attend some of these sessions and make some friends in the area. :)

To update on this info (as of Jan 2013)::

**The Boulder Circus Jam on Wednesday nights is going strong and we would love to spin with you there! It is at the Boulder Circus Center (4747 N.26th Street, Boulder) from 8-11pm and is $5. Incredible indoor space with wood floors, huge ceilings, full length wall mirrors. Best practice place on the front range, hands down. There are spinners who come from Denver, Golden, and Fort Collins every week.

**The Fusion Factory jam on Sunday nights is no longer running. They do have a wonderful weekly burning man community potluck on Monday nights from ~8pm-1am. Share a dish to eat and connect with others in the front room, admire the art gallery walls in the middle room, or spin things in the blacklight room in the back with music (often with local DJs). Great warehouse space to play in. Donations accepted in the front room and are appreciated.

**The Sunday Circus sessions are also no longer running. There are a lot of wonderful events that happen at Guildwerks worth checking out. For spinners, you may be interested in the Colorado Conclave (that practices at Guildwerks on some Monday's from 7:30-9:30pm) - participation is the only requirement and they create a ~25 minute choreographed fire performance to submit to burning man and hopefully perform in the great circle before the man burns. There is also a sister conclave for the regional burn, Apogea, that also meets at Guildwerks on Wednesday nights.

**Confluence fire jams in downtown Denver have been shut down for a while

**There are groups of spinners that meet regularly outside in downtown Denver at the various parks (Cheesman, City Park, Washington Park, etc)

**The Spin Summit is still hosting outdoor jams based around Golden. They post events on https://www.facebook.com/theSpinSummit?ref=ts&fref=ts

Thanks for the updated info!  This is a great topic opener that I can connect with since I also will be moving to Colorado on March 1st!  I'm so excited to connect with the hooping community out West (I live in Boston).  I've been *away* from my hoopcity profile for quite some time so I will be updating more regularly before I go out there.  I look forward to all the new styles and hope I can share some colorful flava with Denver too:)

  See you soon <3

Oh my Goodness!  I am tingly all over with hoop excitement!  My husband and I are moving to Boulder this summer with our son (we are from the Pittsburgh area) and I just jumped on here to see what the hooping scene is like out in CO . . . wow! This is great news! I hope to see all you happy hoopers this July!

HoopHoopHoorahy!

wow spinsummit, that was supremely helpful. ive inquired as to the denver hoop scene several times since moving here a year ago and never had so much info tossed at me. its usually small groups of people that tell me when/where they meet, or tell me about boulder.

The Circus Center in Boulder is super amazing awesomeness but it was $10 when i went  a year ago...so maybe its no longer only $5.

How exciting!  Thanks for the haps:)

You're welcome! We are happy to help be a positive resource in the spin community. Any info we can share to bring spinners together.... :)

The Boulder Circus Jam is a long standing event and has always been $5 minimum donation. There have been rare weeks (maybe 3 in the past 2 years) where live DJs played and the asking entry was a little more to compensate the DJ. The normal standard weekly entry at the Boulder Circus Jam is $5. Many of the Spin Summit team attend the jam weekly and can confirm it is still $5 minimum donation. Hope to see you there soon :)

Hi! A few ladies & I (who will be attending spin summit) get together & Cheesman park every Saturday around 1:00 & we also get together for other hooping related activities. You can meet us @ the pavillions on Saturdays. If You would like, friend me on FB, as thats how we usually communicate. You can find me if you search for Mary Jane Critelli. We would love to have you join us!

Hi Heather,
