So I am sure that this topic has been brought up in the past but I am new around here and would appreciate everyone's input. I have a variety of outfits that I hoop in, from a three piece suit that I sometimes strip out of while hooping to onesies to whatever the hell I am wearing when the bug bites. I am pretty proficient on the sewing machine too and my favourite outfit to hoop in is so far is a pair of Thai wrap pants that I made out of an old blanket. The fringe on the cuffs and around the waist is a lot of fun to dance with! I also make tunics out of old retro curtains etc. Still I get really jealous of all the wonderful costumes that I see you lady hoopers wearing and feel I should up my game. Feel free to toss any ideas my way and I'll see what I can make.
Thanks for the help!

i made a pair of "rave hakama" for myself and also am at a point where bluejeans and a sleeveless t works pretty well for me
my lady was suggesting given my current hoop movements that i get a Chinese shirt and some good cotton pants for hoop work, and i plan on looking into that.
anoughter thing i have hooped in too good effect is a kilt with a sleeveless t that was a good outfit thou discoraged leg hooping, i bloody well did *NOT* go regimental for that exercise.
i too am jealous of the brilliant outfits already figured out for the ladies
but am determined to get over it and sort out my own style and maybe someday be good enough to help extablish men's hoop clothing styles. :)

Wear a vest, no shirt, for a sexy cowboy look.
Think of a theme for your song, and then Google images for it.
Paint a swirl design on a tee-shirt. Or cut out a swirl pattern and wear another colored tee underneath...
Reconstruct a pair of pants with strips of other pants/cloth.

My boyfriend says this all the time. It's really unfair for guys... girls can wear almost any cut and it's flattering, you could take a shirt and cuts holes all over and it would look good, but somehow that just doesn't translate for guys.
