no fire, and florida. so....it won't be like 0 degrees cold or anything, but its in the evening, so it will probably be getting down to between 30 and 45 degrees

Furry Leggies and a furry hat will keep you super warm even if you have a lighter costume on your body. Plus double fishnets for you upper legs. BTW see my photo from Halloween for what that looks like. She made all the furry stuff and I got the fishnets from I love colors. I wore this in SF in OCT and it was def around 40 something at night and while hooping I was actually warm!

It depends how long (and how active) your routine is, but you may be able to get away with your normal costume. Just stay inside or well covered up and get well warmed up before you go on. Build up enough heat that you want to take off your big coat or whatever, and you'll carry most of that heat into your performance and maintain it as you spin. Bonus is that if you're rocking a skimpy sexy outfit, it will have more of an impact if it's cold.

 

Otherwise, if you have an outfit that covers you - like leggings - you can wear another layer underneath. Smartwool is really amazing stuff and keeps you warm but also lets out excess heat. Or 'nude' colored body stockings, unitards, etc. could help, though could be slippery for hooping.

Hi, I live in Florida, too. Jacksonville. I wore homemade fluffy accessories to the Bear Creek Festival and was kept pretty warm, but I had to wear leggings too. I make my costumes with a sewing machine and have been sewing for over ten years. I love it! Anyway if you want something specific I am starting to do custom orders for a fraction of the price that you see on many costume retailer websites!

well if its outdoors i'd say a neon type stripey body suit hehehe!  so u get that daytime sorta led look about ya ,,especially if the hoop has same colors :)  may cost u some bucks, but if ya got the money I'd go with body suit so ya warm,,so it hugs the body close and thus don't interfere with the hoop,, and with custom pattern on it,,even if its neon paint just for this performance,, it would look swAweeT@!!!
