I always make things on a as needed basis and not only am I a hooper but also a stilt walker. One thing I have started making that is easy, fun, and trasnslateable are my stilt thigh-highs rather than stilt pants. I love them so much I started making them for when I am not on my stilts and they are fun to hoop in.

You will make two panels and sew them together. A thigh panel which will hold the pant leg up and the pant leg which can be wide and flowy or tight and bell. .hoowever you prefer.
First, Measure the distance around your thigh and write it down.
Then, measure the distance from your knee to the ground

I usually use a piece of stretch lace or spandex for the panel around the thigh and usually make it about 4 or 5 inches tall and as long as my thigh is wide. Make one fore each leg.

Now trace a longer piece of fabric to go from above your knee to the ground, make sure its wide enough to go around your whole leg (if you have a favorite pair of pants that bell in just the right way trace their outline here)

Then, lay the leg fabric and the thigh fabric flat one above the other, respectively, and sew them together at the seam that would go right above your knee. (basically both the front and the back of both pieces are connected in one piece laid out flat and you sew one horizontal seam across where they meet)

Turn them inside outand sew the seam top to bottom. Make the part around the thigh a lil tighter (they loosen after an hour or so)

Enjoy*

In the future Ill try to do one with pictures but feel free to send me any questions!

This group will kind of be like a free class. Whenever I find a clothing tutorial I love I'll post it here for everyone to see.
