Hey guys, so it's definitely official that Bax and i teaching on the 27th and 28th of November in Amsterdam. I'm SO SO SO excited, because i've never been there before.
drop me a note if you're interested in details: class descriptions, etc. i'll post them later, either way.

but for now.... we're really struggling to find a good space to have it at.
i know Amsterdam is expensive, and we're willing to pay what we have to, but if we need to go just outside the city, that's fine as well.

we need enough room for 9 square meters per hooper, and we would of course like to get as many hoopers as possible. that's a lot of space.
know of a school gymnasium? warehouse? anything

ANY and ALL suggestions are welcome.

thanks so much, guys.
hope to see you there.
thanks
-brecken

More Info Brecken and Baxter are coming to Amsterdam and will be giving a hooping workhop on Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th of November. The workshop will last for 3 hours on each day (18:00 - 21:00) and there is the option to sign up for one or both days.

Title: “Transitional Space and the Wave Current” - found pathways and conceptual thinking for plane changes and all the infinite space in between.

Price: €45 for 3 hours on Saturday, €80 for both days. Please RSVP to this event or e-mail paul@hooping.nl to sign up for the workshop.

For those of you that are traveling from far we would like to suggest that you contact local hoopers to arrange for a place to sleep. There is also the chance that there will be a hoop jam/dance party organized on the Saturday night, but we haven't found a space for that yet.

Brecken describes her part of the workshop:

"I cannot possibly emphasize the importance of this class enough. Maybe I’m biased, but as far as off-body movement goes, I feel that this is the foundation on which it should all be based: The hoop is naturally dictated by physics- gravity and momentum. Understanding the inherent path of the hoop as it settles and falls is key to discovering the transitional pathways already available to carry us, upon our applied momentum. This allows both a more balanced, receptive relationship between you and the hoop and a richer engagement with the surrounding space (which leads to textures and acquired softness). It’s extension of core hooping, but becomes more like surfing. Feels great. It’s a workshop I’ve taught many times before, so if you’re already familiar with the concepts, I can assure you that the bodily integration (specifically feet and legs) is infinite and we’ll go there if you’re ready.
Amidst this I’ll be covering the isolation barrel roll (which seems to have become a recent hooping favorite) and how to address it from both a beginner’s standpoint and an expert’s (it’s easier to start than you’d think, and there’s a whole lot of polishing when you’re ready).
**It’s likely that this class will spill into the second day. It’s a lot of material and I’d love to take the time to provide some imagery and sequences as a catalyst for really seeing it, remembering it, and making it your own. "

The workshop is made possible by Laura de Zanger, Anna Loots (Hoop Dance Nederland) and Paul Vlaar (Hooping.nl)
I am so excited to hear about this workshop! I just recently got into hooping this past summer, and will be moving to Germany just an hour drive south of Amsterdam, in just a few days. I was worried there wouldn't be a big community overseas, but I have been proven wrong! Can't wait!
Hi Brecken, what a great great workshop you and Baxter did in Amsterdam! Perfectly timed rhythm of styles - great idea changing teacher evry ten minutes - and an awesome mix of fun, flow and emotion. (And a real workout, man!) All them beautiful hoopers and hooping around me... wow! I was really mesmerized by your ideas. Thank you for sharing them!!!
To see you hoop is so refreshing, you´re wild AND cute at the same time!
Hope to meet you again, you really are my hooping hero.
Keep on,
Gre
