Hi Jenny, I am volunteering at Bluesfest and planned on bringing my hoops along, but after last night I am reconsidering.   The crowds were intense!  Collapsibles are the way to go.

HI hoop pals, so I went to BF last night, and it was fun to hoop with a great band (from Australia, Blue King Brown) and met another hooper (hey Lisa!). Then it started to POUR and we FROZE and there was lightning and things got ugly and scary. Phones didn't work, the headliner was cancelled, and people were drunk, coarse, stupid.... garbage blowing around, so dirty, people barfing.... I'm hoping for better today - a good weather forecast, gospel day! and people will be making joyful noise. Why do people need to get drunk (on $6 small beers!!!) to have a good time? I'm glad I didn't bring my LED baby last night, but I'm bringing it tonight for Splongled Experience and Erykah Badu. If you see me come over and hoop with me!

 

another thing - I had no problem bringing in my hoops coiled or not. LIsa's hoops weren't coiled down and no one stopped me. When the crowds got thick around me, a nice security guard asked me to set them down for the next set, but I already was moving back to where there was more room. He was cool with it, as everyone was. I feels like hooping is welcome, as long as your hoop doesn't go flying or you're claiming space at the front of the stage.

BTW - I'm expecting my LAST shipment of feathers this week, if you'd like to be feathered, now's your chance. It's super pretty, but now that I've done most of my family and friends, I'm finishing up. So email me soon if you've been sitting on the fence! it's super pretty for summer. I've also made really cool feather cuffs in black, white and natural. They're great for festival wear! I'll bring them to Trish's class this Tuesday if you'd like to see them! I'm going to make some bustles/hip purses too :O)
