Hey hoopers, check out this beautiful poster made by Averyl our amazing graphic designer hooper!

please copy and share as much as you please, post in public displays of hoop-friendliness, and let us know by rsvp'ing if you're coming! Brigitte has a stash of kids size hoops to give away for WHD, I'll have some giveaways too, and I invite everyone to bring out thier inner 'star' by putting together a hoop piece, perhaps? I have the choreo for the WHD dance also, if anyone would like it written down to practice with. Until then, the choreo is shown on www.worldhoopday.org

Hey folks, we're in countdown mode to WHD celebrations on Sunday at Maman, we've shortened the time to 2-4 pm, with the WHD dance at 4 pm. Please come out!!!! and tell all your friends and neighbours and their friends too! I'm hoping we can get a bit of media attention - Robyn, how's it going with the radio stations? I'm not on FB, but I hope there's a discussion going on there about WHD. At the jam on Friday we'll practice both this years' and last years dance, and hopefully spice up Safety Hoop Dance! We'll be collecting/busking for WHD to support them as they bring childhood back to children in difficult situations. I was pretty impressed by the website, their ambassadors, and their association with Engineers without Borders and the Peace Corps.

 

So who's in? please rsvp here! Carpool if possible - Averyl and I are riding in from Orleans with a car full of hoops. I hope others can make some connections to save on downtown parking :O)

WHD 2011 was great fun!  Thanks Jenny for setting this in motion, Averyl for the great poster, and everyone else who helped out or made it awesome with your hooping. :D

well, Robyn did an outstanding job of sending out press releases, etc, but it's not up to us if they show up or not! We'd love your help for next year, it'll be tricky with the Xmas season... then what will happen in the future? Jan 13th, 2013, Feb 14th, 2014????

That was a fun weekend of hooping! Great jam, great WHD event! I'm sure people walking by had no idea that Ottawa was home to so many hoopers -- or that hooping even existed. I've posted a compilation album of photos (mine, Jen, Averyl, Bryana) on www.sirenhoops.com, as well as the video, which I've sent off to Tink in Tokyo. I'll put the video below as well:

weeee! that was great! thanks Trish for putting that together, and next year we'll need to get a videographer to walk through the crowd of hoopers so everyone gets in the front! I especially liked the postcard/first picture on your compiled albumn. Big hoopy smiles :O)))

Thanks Trish for finishing up the video work. :D It was an impressive turnout of hoopers.  Any guesses as to how many people were there?
