I hope hope hope I'm not the only one that does this, but every once in a while, I end up eating like...a big bag of candy. (This Halloween was one such time) and I look up, surrounded in wrappers or other such candy paraphernalia and think to myself.... ugh. I feel dirty.

Then I usually eat 1/2 to an entire head of lettuce... It's my stabilizing, realignment sort of food. It gets me back on track and helps me feel a little better.

A) Does anyone else ever do this?
B) What do you eat as your clean food?

I'm raw vegan, so I never binge on foods, but I still feel the need to cleanse on some days. Usually when I feel like that I just drink water with lemon juice and eat chlorella tablets.
I have green smoothies with tons of spinach, chia seeds, fresh orange juice...cleans me out and the chia seeds balance out my sugars so I don't feel hypoglycemic.
sliced pears or apples for me, so yummy. With a cup of tea :) or some veggie chili
snack mix- I love the salt I think...and all that different snack stuff! I bake stuff for my sweet tooth (I'm a big fan of lemon bars- sweet but tart, yum and tiny apple pies i make in muffin tins).
I eat pretty healthy most of the time anyway, so I rarely eat those goodies but a couple times a month. But if I get stuck somewhere & have to eat fast food I feel bad later & balance it out with a light salad...I love me some salad though.

Omgosh, lemon bars are my FAV! I don't make them very often but I can literally eat almost a whole box to myself, I'm such an addict. They are just soo yummy :)

I'm not a huge sweet eater... but I love savory and salty.

Uhh, yeah, I have eaten chips and rotel for dinner many times.. and I love to eat bbq, and Mexican, and pizza, and drink beer ;)

But, I do balance it will healthy stuff. Eating a really healthy breakfast, like an egg with fresh veggies, juice, oatmeal, etc. really makes me feel good after a night of delicious, but not so healthy, food.
I tend to go a bit nuts on dark chocolate

my clean foods are quinoa, pears, strawberry/blueberry/chia/coconut water smoothies, or a baby spinach salad with oranges and peppers
After the urge no candy or chocolate or nuts. Drink water and tea. Most important regarding food choices separate food groups as your 5 to 9 meals a day. Known as a detox diet.
I eat Pears and rice and apples and bananas then potatoes are included. Know as the BRAP diet also used to battle food born illness.

my binge foods are: Mexican food, ice cream and cookies
cleaning out: Shakeology 3 day cleanse.

French fries, or any other sort of fried food. Onion rings. Buffalo wings. Bar food basically.

 

Kombucha, coconut water, green smoothies. All of these have been helpful in keeping myself clean and healthy.

This past summer, I went on a 2 week road trip to see String Cheese play. My car mate was pretty healthy, so we ate pretty well the whole time, but I wouldn't have survived without kombucha, coconut water, and green superfood powder mixed with lemonade. Overindulgence has its perks, but you certainly pay the price aftewards. Somehow, after overdoing it two weekends in the row, including lots of drugs and alcohol, staying up all night, pushing my body to its cardiovascular and muscular limits with dancing and hooping, and driving for days on end, I didn't get sick. Until the end of my trip, when I got food poisoning from eating Taco Bell.... that's a lesson I learned the hard way.
