Hi hoopers! I wanted to let everyone know that I will be teaching a beginner/intermediate 6-week hoop dance class series in Philadelphia if anyone is interested! It will be a great class to get the foundations down or really begin to expand your skill set. The dates are November 18-December 3rd on Tuesday nights from 6:30-7:30 at Starr Garden Recreation Center, 600 Lombard St. The whole series costs $50 or classes can be purchased individually or as a drop-in at $10/class. Hoops will be provided and available for purchase for $15 (or you can bring your own). More information on this flyer: https://www.smore.com/jyrgt you can also check out the facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/events/400239850142729/
I would love to see some of you there :)
Would anybody like a brand new hoop for free or dirt cheap? I've been making hoops for a few years and decided to stop making and selling them as I have other endeavors which are taking up my time. Also, these hoops are taking up way too much space. I'm located in South Jersey, about 15 minutes outside of Philly. Please message me if you would like a hoop. Name your price and it's yours. If you can't afford one, you can just have it.
BTW, if anyone is interested, I started a facebook group called the "Delaware Hooping Collective" for anyone in or around Delaware interested in hooping. Obviously any philly hoopers are welcome since we are all so close!
I just moved to Newark DE, just outside the Philly area. I am looking for people to hoop with - does this group get together regularly? Or are there any hoop-related events occurring anytime soon? Thx!
From Jennifer Alvarez:
Hi Hoop Family I am super excited to announce that I just received confirmation that I will be teaching and performing with the Philly HoopStarz for the events at The Oval (located in the circle across the street from the Philadelphia Museum of Art). I am booked for five Sundays from July 20th to August 17th and for an evening Hoop Fitness class on Wednesday July 20th from 7-8pm. These events are FREE to the public!!! Come play, learn some new moves, and watch the Philly Hoopstarz in action. Hoop to see you there .
sorry it's been a really long time since I've been on here! I'd love to meet up sometime. I'm across state for winter break at the moment but I will be in Philly mid/end of January!
I know it's getting chilly, or actually it is already chilly, but I'd love to do a meet up! <3
Hi Philly hoop lovers, I wanted to let you all know about my Hoop Retreat in the Poconos, PA in April 2014. Here's the link to the info:
Thank you very much for the links. The Philly Hoopers page is a closed group but I sent a request, I'm not totally sure how closed groups work. I liked the flow wellness page as well! Hope to cross paths & flow sometime!
Hi Emma :-) I'm kind of a newbie hooper in the area. But I'm on the following FB group which seems to connect area hoopers and show know about area jam sessions.
also Flow Wellness has monthly workshops
