Great idea Amanda...I'm totally feeling like I need to decompress from Hoopcamp. I wish there would have been a post-camp gathering so we could all just talk about what we learned, etc :) My husband is getting tired of hearing me go on and on about Hoopcamp this, Hoopcamp that! :)

The funny thing is, I forgot to give my 3 words when I introduced myself. So, I am doing it backwards :) If I would have given my words, that would have been, "contentment brings freedom". I wanted to stop trying to hoop like someone else and just be content within my OWN journey. I felt like that really happened and I felt so free and able to move how I wanted to without judgment.

I have to agree about your favorite moment. That was AMAZING. Ahhhhhh....just talking about it is taking me right back there. *chills*

Oh, and yes, your rainbow pants were awesome.

Yay, thanks for writing back! I love your 3 words of intention! I definitely understand what you mean about trying to look like someone else out there. It's very hard not to be intimidated by all the beautiful and awesome hoopers out there, and I really do understand that everyone needs to find their own path. I think I accepted some of that myself. It's always hard not to judge yourself, but Hoopcharmer actually helped me with that this weekend.

Little story:

So Thursday night, I busted out my LED hoop that turns into minis. I was showing the conversion to some ladies out at the Water Stage, and Jennifer (Hoopcharmer) was standing there and said, "Show us! Rock out with them!" So I immediately turned all shades of red and embarrassingly said, "Well I'm not very good with the minis yet." And so I shoved them at her, and she proceeded to immediately rock some crazy mini hoop technique with my hoops! OMG! GORGEOUS! I took them back when she was done, and I just ran off embarrassed that I couldn't do all that.

Then on Saturday night (after the burn), she saw me and some friends taking a break on the sidelines, and she popped over and handed me her beautiful PSI minis. She said, "Now you go try mine!" I was immediately intimidated, but I got out there anyway. I don't know all the fancy moves she did, but I danced around with them like they were sorta fans. :-) Right about that time, I looked up and the Lama of the camp was taking my picture!!!! So when I was done, I ran back over to her, and she said, "Look how amazing you are!!" She told us basically that it's not really about "moves" and "tricks" out there, it's about attitude and style. And we ALL have that! We can gain the trick skills, but that's not what makes us beautiful.

So anyway, long story short, I figured out that I'm beautiful out there dancing even if my tricks aren't as fancy as some! Find your own way, for sure!!
