Hello, I am now in Hawaii and I have walked by Magic Island where the Saturday night hoop jams are and as the park is quite big, can you tell me where the hoopers meet.  Thank you.  Teresa

This workshop will push your boundaries within the hoop! Focusing on exciting plane exploration, Unity will help you express yourself in new ways. This workshop will cover avant-garde techniques that are on the cutting edge of modern Hoop Dance. The DANCE of Hoop Dance with also be a focus, allowing us to use our body and explore expression through movement.

Valentina (UNITY) is a second gene...ration belly dancer who was raised in the underground Los Angeles art scene by her mother, Leela, a successful theatrical belly dance icon. She now emerges as a performer and instructor in the arts of belly dance, hoop dance, fire and burlesque. Her ability to seamlessly combine these dance forms gives her a unique and provocative vision unlike any other. Valentina's Hoop Burlesque act was featured on Showtime's Live Nude Comedy in August 2009. Valentina is the leader of The Hoop Unit, a fusion performance group that debuted in June 2009.

Hey there, we do a weekly hoop jam on Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach park near waikiki on Saturdays. I'm not too involved in the community due to my current work schedule, but I suggest you contact Lacey Coop on Facebook. She has a facebook page for HulaCoop's where they have info about hoop jams and performances as well.

Hi Hawaiian Hoopers! I will be in Oahu Feb 14-16 and 22-23. Then I am headed to Kauai from Feb 16-22. I would love to meet up and hoop with you all! I am planning an Intermediate Hoop Workshop for Kauai during the time I will be there. I will let you know about it when I get details!

Hey Teresa, unfortunately I am a workhorse right now so I haven't been hooping too much. My friends do a hoop jam on Saturday evenings at a park near Waikiki, but they have been canceled a lot lately due to inclement weather or performances. If you are on facebook, you should check out http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/HulaCoops/134274273274215 it's the FB page for their hoop making company and performance troupe Lacey Coop is the main contact person, I bet since you're going to be here for 3 weeks, you will have a chance to meet up and hoop. Unfortunately, our hoop community is really small here, but we're working on changing that! I hope you have fun hooping in paradise, hopefully I will see you here!

Hello, I am going to Hawaii for three weeks beginning February 22nd and will be staying in a hotel near Waikiki beach.  I am bringing my travel hoop and would love to participate in a hoop jam.  Can you tell me if you have hoop jams I can join.  Thank you.
