I love this. I love your entry (I must admit, it made me tear up). I love the challenge. I had actually been contemplating posting the same challenge at some point, so it's just meant to be!

 

I know exactly what I'm going to do, just hope I can find time this month to do it... August is crazy busy for me. But there's always time for hooping!!

I was going to make a costume and do a one-shot video, but ran out of time because of the contest deadline (I found out about it late.) I ended up cutting together pieces of practice video that I already had. It only took one evening and I am still really proud of how it turned out. You should give it a go, even if you don't think you can put as much time into it as you want. Can't wait to see it. :)

Lissa - you are incredible!!! I have tears streaming down my face cuz i can relate to you in every word! Thank u for making this and even more so, for sharing so others may not feel so alone. On a happy note, thank goodness we found our peace in the hoop ! idk what i would be doin without it...

I've watched your video a few times, as well as SaFire's and Lissa's.  I love this idea and will definitely work on something for it. :)

This is soooo beautful....your moves are so full of grace and power. It brought me to tears....and I love the part that you said, " I can't do this ...yet". bravo,,,bravo...

Anywhooo! This is my first contest entry, I just started hooping a couple months ago, and just recently started hooping everyday, I love it!  

For some reason I did have a head when I recorded this but in the editing my head gets cut off, I'm the Headless Hooper! and I don't have much space but I did what I could :)

It looks like you used iMovie to make your video.  When you are creating a "New Project" from the drop down "File" menu, a box will appear where you title your new project and you can select one of the"Themes" if you want.  Right above that, and right below the name of your new project, you will see "Aspect Ratio,"  --change it from widescreen to standard. This will ensure that your head is not cut off next time! :)

ahhh, thank you :)  I'll do that next time, my mac does more than I'll ever understand! Some days I think it's smarter than me!!!  lol

Terrific challenge response, Nora!  I can see why you wanted to use that song; it's perfect for this.  Wonderful hooping and editing of it all together. :)

Thank you so much!  I have the hardest time *putting myself out there* so that in itself was a challenge!!  Also have a super small space to play inside, the blackflies are back outside so I spend more time swatting than hooping!!!

I understand; here it's gnats and mosquitoes mostly, and they keep me indoors.  Thank the Lord for my church fellowship hall; otherwise I don't know when or where I'd practice.
