This month's challenge is to go international. Pick a song to hoop to that was recorded by an artist from another country. Don't just use a song from your country that is inspired by a different type of music. Really make the effort to try listening to something different.
This challenge was inspired by a concert I attended at a Hindu temple and the CDs that Kitchens of India includes in their meals for free.
Some different types of music you might try are Native American flute and drums, African drums, mariachi, Bhangra (Indian), Celtic, Estonian folk music.
Be creative. Come up with something we've never heard before.
****Reminder: Raffle entries are due by midnight Hoop City Time on June 30th.****
For more info on the raffle, please see the Challenges group home page.
ok this is my entry for the hoop challenge, its my first challenge and i really liked it. sorry i'm a little late, it took forever to upload!
originally I had planned on hooping to a bollywood song and I recorded it and then after the bollywood song this one randomly came up and I loved it and jammed away. It still is a song I would not usually hoop to and it was really interesting. it kinda zoomed me into a trance and it was awesome, i was just really into it at that point so I had to use it for the challenge. No idea where the song is from to be honest. But hooping out of your comfort zone is great, i liked the video with the train tracks, wanna try sth like that as well, cool location :)
long story short, here is my video :)
Here's your video so everyone can watch it here:
I can see why you chose that song; I was hooping to it in my desk chair. Cool curtain, too; adds to the ambience of the video.
Great energy level - your isos look good, and I may have to steal that flip you do at the 2:10 mark. ;)
ooh i love it, went on a bollywood music bender yesterday so this is a nice addition to the running theme (my alarm on my phone is a bollywood song :o)
Contest entry submissions are now closed.
Feel free to continue posting challenge videos, though.
Yes, I know that I am late. I don't do a thing on time!!! But, I thought I would still share. Enjoy!
