Lol - why not use y'all? It's just the shorter version of "you all," after all. Granted, most non-southern-US people either are scared of it or put the apostrophe in the wrong place (congrats on getting that right, by the way), but we're laid-back about it; we don't mind y'all using it when it's appropriate. Now, if someone starts "y'all"ing when they're talking to just one person, or putting on a fake accent to say it, that's another story... ;)

As for the playlist, before I started hooping I listened mostly to contemporary Christian, smooth instrumental jazz and other instrumental/nature sounds music, so that carried over into my hoop playlist. Since I've started hooping, I've added some electronica and world music to my iPod, as well as some of the cleaner stuff from the 80s and 90s for those nostalgic flashback hoop sessions. If you go to my profile, you'll find a few faves on my playlist there; feel free to grab whatever you like for your HC playlist. :)

I'm a firm believer in bringing "y'all" back into everyday conversation!! I grew up in Virginia, but move here to California in '88 and sort of dropped my "y'all" after getting a bunch of flack for it. I've missed it ever since. I think we should start a movement!!
As for music - my husband makes hooping mix cds for me! We put all sorts of stuff on them, from hip-hop, to bellydance music, to contemporary stuff. I'll have to go look on his computer and find which artists we've got on the one I'm currently hooping to, because it's great. Yesterday, though, I put on Jump Little Children's "Vertigo" and that was a nice one to play around to. Also Moby and Soul Coughing have been getting a lot of stereo time lately. Hi Kathy, I am starting a great list (about 150 of my 8500 Ipod songs have made my Hooping Playlist so far). Trying to figure out a way to cut a paste the list so I can send you some ideas. Will see what I can do.

@KIm J. - thanks for the tip on Soul Coughing (new to me and I like it!!). I am really curious what you have for belly dancing music. Not sure where to begin to find that and would like to look some up and download (BDancing is the next "new" thing I want to try - and I think the music would be great for hooping too!)
