I'm new here but saw this group and wanted to share something great my 5 year old (well, she turns 6 today) did a few weeks ago. She wanted to try out for her school talent show and put together a hoop dance routine! She totally refused to let me help her or even watch her practice, so I had no idea what she was going to come up with. It was a really big lesson for me to not get involved and let her do her own thing.

She auditioned and I was told she was wonderful and she made the cut. The night of the show I didn't know what to expect, but her performance was spectacular. I was so proud of her, I would never have had the nerve to do something like that when I was her age. She did such a great job and she wowed the crowd! Everyone kept asking me where she learned to hoop like that. I was 9 months pregnant at the time, so not many people believed she learned it from me!

That is wonderful!!! You must have been so happy for her, and how nice to have been able to share hooping with her, and to see her make it her own like that!

One morning I was extremely tired and so I wanted just a few more minutes to just lay in bed without sleeping... just to relax. So I brought my little one into bed with me and my fiancee and we were just laying there waking up and she turns to me- touches my face- smiles- and says.... clear as day "Da-da" ..My fiancee started laughing -So i made him get up with her for the morning.
