Hi all! i haven't posted here in a while but i had a question. About two weeks ago i discovered that despite having the paragard IUD, i was 12 weeks pregnant! i already have a 16 month old son but my question is this.... have any of you used a pregnancy hoop? what did you think about it? I am seriously considering it since i haven't been able to pick up my own hoop in over two weeks :(

thanks in advance and have a great day!

When I was pregnant I used 1/2 inch 125 psi and 100 psi hoops. Basically all you need is something light but a bit larger for a slower rotation and so you don't have to shake that belly around. It'd be cheaper to make it yourself or buy from someone like myself because 1/2 inch tubing is about $12.99 for me for a 100ft roll.
i have made all my own hoops so i wouldnt have an issue making my own. i just knew very little about pregnancy hoop except they were lighter and larger. thanks for the info :)
ok first question is why haven't you been able to pick up your old hoop? At 12 weeks you body really hasn't changed enough to stop hooping. I was still using my same hoop at 5 months no problem. The rule of thumb for hooping while pregnant is to listen to your body. If you hooped before becoming pregnant you can hoop while pregnant. Assuming you don't have any other health issues/problems in the pregnancy the only thing you may need is a larger hoop. I personally think it is a waste of money to buy a "pregnancy" hoop and is completely unneeded. I am currently 29 weeks pregnant and I still have no problems with my old hoop (45" diameter) Good luck with everything. Willow
my belly already comes out further than my boobs and i was noticing that it was harder for me to hoop before i found out i was pregnant. i do have supplies to make my own hoops, i was just concerned about hurting myself without meaning to. i am a high risk pregnancy due to previous pregnancy issues so i didnt want to use my own hoop if it was unsafe. i was thinking a lighter hoop would be better
Wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy and birth. Sounds like you know your body and your limits. My friend, Bonnie MacDougall (who is a super badass hooper and instructor here in Carrboro) hooped throughout her pregnancies and even into the first parts of labor. I'll let her tell her own story, but I do think any kind of movement that keeps the body supple and energized is good. You are the expert in your own situation. I just wish hooping had been an option for me 13 (!) years ago when I was pregnant with Erica. Let us know how it goes for you.
Hi im Amanda:) My daughter's name is Jayde, she is 10 months old. I was able to hoop almost my whole pregnancy! The first timester was a little rough due to the "all day sickness", but after that it was all a go go! So don't worry, you can and probably will, get back in the hoop. A note of insperation...I helped host a Wyoming fitness week hoop section for three hundred 3rd graders the day I delivered Jayde! Get it girl!!!
haha thanks! i have been! was given a hoopnotica hoop as a present by the hubby ;) i have found that hooping while pregnant is completely different than beforehand. so i kinda had to relearn! its been fun though
Yay to pregnant hooping!!! I am 11 weeks now and the most difficult part of being pregnant was the thought of not being able to hoop. I have found that despite lacking the energy, my home made light weight hoop of 100 psi, 1/2 inch is the best...ESPECIALLY hooping around the tender chest!
yay!!! i am currently on hoop rest. i have a back injury that they suspect is a slipped disc so hooping is on hold until i see the nuerologist *boooooo!!!*
