Hi everyone!
I've been searching and searching for hoop instructors, classes, or workshops in the Omaha or Lincoln area and have been coming up empty. I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. I'm a total novice so I'm starting from scratch. I'm living south of Plattsmouth and I don't mind traveling a bit if I have to.
Thanks for any suggestions or advice!

Permalink Reply by Coco of Yin & Yang Hooping on May 22, 2012 at 11:19pm Hello!!! Sorry I haven't commented earlier! I have been busy lately preparing for my travels to CA and just got around to looking at your post! I live in Lincoln and I have been trying to start a hooping class at the YMCA, Madonna ProActive, and many other active places. I have fallen short on accomplishing a class at these facilities but I host a hoop jam in Lincoln every Tuesday 2 hours before sunset. It is called "Twisting Tuesday". If you are Facebook savvy, we have a group that is for the community to post when and where hooping is happening! Look up "Hula Hoop Lincoln". If you at do not have FB let me know and I will message you when and where we are hooping next tuesday. If you prefer going to Omaha, search "Omahoop" on Facebook, or "Hula Hoop Omaha". I know that Sammy Sunshyne was doing some workshops in Omaha and was teaching a class at the Omaha Ball Room. But I am not 100% sure if that is still in session. I organize some workshops in Lincoln every few months. And now that it is summer time, I might organize one a month. Keep in touch! I would love to see you at a Twisting Tuesday. We meet for 3 weeks and then have an off week. But on the 3rd week we bring our fire toys and play with them after sunset. Like I said earlier let me know when you can make it to a Tuesday hoop jam and I'll tell ya the place and time.
Permalink Reply by Cherryanne on June 1, 2012 at 5:23pm Thank you so much for responding guys! I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner! We've had company from out of town and time has gotten away from me. I finally got my hoop and of course am covered in bruises. : ) I've been using a Hoopnotica DVD since I haven't been able to find any instructors in my area and everything is going pretty well but I think my hoop is too big. I would love to attend a Twisting Tuesday but I think I probably need to improve on my skills a little before I'm fit to be seen in public. : ) We live about 50 min. away from Lincoln but it looks like I'm going to need to commute to find other hoopers. I spoke with Omahoop but Sea Rose isn't offering any classes at the moment. And I haven't heard back from Sammy Sunshyne yet. I would love to get together sometime Rachel! And I'm definitely interested in attending one of your workshops Coco! Thanks again for responding!
