Adults Only 12:45-1pm Hoop Jam All Levels. 1-2:30/ Core Hoop 25$; w/Lynn 2:30-2:45 Hoop Jam Intermediate: 2:45-3:45/ Mini Twins. 15$; w/Lynn Both for 35$ Payment Link: http://indyhoopers.bigcart el.com/ __________________________ __________________________ ___________ Core Hoop/ All Levels: This workshop will involve single hoop instruction and give you a bit of everything. Fitness, Meditation, Movement and Tricks with exercises focused to incorporate these concepts. In an all levels environment, teaching is directed to the base abilities of the members of that particular class. The exercises are designed to provide a simple base concept for the beginner and then extend into more challenging movements to push the hoopers in that particular class. If your present abilities are passed in this base line of teaching, work into the exercise as far as you can without becoming too frustrated. Also listen and watch, so you can click with the material someday. Mini Twins/ Intermediate: This workshop will introduce you to the concept of using MiniTwin Hoops aka Wee Hoops and/or Poi Hoops. Students will work on “vertical techniques” and "horizontal plains" and in both currents. Also creating walls, executing breaks, weaves, in- spin /anti-spin. Students will be encouraged to apply these techniques inside body movement and flow. Mini Twins for me, are typically between 16 - 20 inchs diameter, but they could be smaller if you like. The Hoops should be small enough to spin on the hand in front of the body without hitting the chest or face. There will be many sizes of MiniTwins for sale at this workshop. A Pair: 30$ __________________________ __________________________ __________ From SR 37 turn west on SR 32, sr 32 turns into Conner. The Club is on the north side of the street, but the parking lot is not accessible from Conner Street. You have to turn north on 14th or 16th, then to Logan and South onto 15th, which dumps into the lot. You will want to wear comfy well fitted clothes made mostly of cotton. Hoops tend to slide off of synthetic fabrics and baggy-ness gets in the way. Yoga wear works very well. Tank Tops are very important when we get into chest and shoulder hooping and I start teaching that from the get go. Hoops like to grip onto skin. No hanging/dangling jewelry or watches. Stud earrings are fine. Empty pockets. Bring LOTS of water! Thank you so much, Lynn |
Hi everyone!

MARK THE CALENDAR! February 5th, 2011. Louisville, Ky.

The Snow Flow Festival is held in downtown Louisville, KY and is the first festival of its kind for the Midwest Region of the United States. From its inception, the creators of this spectacular event strove to construct a forum for flow artists across the region to centralize, teach and learn from one another, all at a cost that is affordable. Workshops are offered in a variety of flow arts and can be taken separately or at a phenomenal discount for groups of classes. Nine classes are offered in total.
In addition, the evening ends with The Snow Flow Formal, which is included in your group ticket price, or can be purchased separately. Bring your party hats and flow formal wear and be ready to dance, as this will be the formalyou’ve always imagined. The day promises to be one of great learning and bliss.
FLOW (flō) v., flowed, flow·ing, flows.
Psychologist Mihály Csíkszentmihály described flow as “the mental state of operation in which a person in an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity.” The end result of flow is a feeling of spontaneous joy, even bliss, while performing an activity. Come join us for this day of flow and fun and explore techniques and artistry that can add this euphoric feeling to your life.

I'm stuck in a loop with the hula hoop. When I was a little girl I was abused in every which way. Often I was grounded to my bedroom, with two bathroom visits and a dinner release. In my bedroom held my boom box. Loud music would draw my angry step father towards my room. But I had to dance, so from a young age I would take a few preventable beatings so I could dance in my bedroom. Pretending I'm dancing on stage with Brain Setzer, I had trained myself to ingore reality while I dance. Even…

I haven't posted for a very long time, but I have something worth sharing. In the last couple of years, I have advanced enough to start teaching and I absolutley love my classes. All my students are wonderful its the most favorite part of my week. Through a very unfortunate series of events, every hoop I own, including my hoops for students, were taken and no longer in my possession. I was so upset ,not for myself, but my students would have nothing to take class with. There…
