Hello hoopers!

I'd really love to organize some sort of hoop camp-out for this coming spring. I've been thinking about possibly doing it at Little Bennett Regional Park in Clarksburg, MD. Little Bennett is a lovely little place with lots of camping, hiking trails, etc. located about 30 miles northwest of DC and 50 miles west of Baltimore.

But I need your help! If you'd like to help out with this project please shoot me an email or message here. I really want to get this off the ground so let me know!

That would be a lot of fun!
I'm a total beginner and would love to learn more... would this camp out be a good way to do that? If so, I'd LOVE to help out! How can I help?

I don't know exactly what Megan would want to do with it....but I'm sure there would be all different levels of hoopers there to help you learn some new stuff! I would consider myself an intermediate level hooper and I'd love to show you some tricks. =)
I think it would definitely be cool to maybe do like an informal practice/workshop...I'd consider myself an intermediate hooper as well so maybe some of us more experienced hoopers can get together and work out a mini-lesson/routine?

i figure friday afternoon/evening could be a get to know everyone sort of thing/hoop jam, and then saturday morning/early afternoon could be the informal practice.
Thanks :)
That sounds great. I know two wonderful instructors here in the area. Tina B of Manassas Va and Jocelyn Gordon of Arlington VA. They are both certified through hoopnotica and Tina is certified through Hoopgirl as well. I can kick the idea to them and see if they would like to participate. In addition, Jocelyn and Tina has a group called hoopdancedc, which you can find on meetup.com. You might want to go and sign up to their group and send them a message as well. I think Jocelyn is on here as well, but not sure.
There is a really cool place like 45 mins west of Frederick that has tree houses to camp in. It's called Maple Tree Campground. I've never been, but it looks awesome. Just a thought. Also, music to go along with hooping at a hoop camp would be great, and a fellow hooper books bands for work, so we could probably get low key live music action if there is an interest...
Great idea! I'm down to help organize!
