Hey yeah i'll let you know more when everything is set in stone.  I know it will start in August and it will be on Saturdays.  Not sure if It will be once a month or twice a month.  Still have to work out more with my director.  I would love to join you guys, only problem is i work 3-8 three nights a week.  Thursday is one of them.  The Goodells one in May sounds interesting.  I'll have to see whats going on.  I would love to find some other people to hoop with.  Kind of on my own out here right now lol.  I'm really hoping to have good success with mine this August.

Dawn - we live pretty close to each other.  I would love to hear more info when you plan your hoop jam at Lenox. 

 

We have anywhere from 15-30 people each week that get together to hoop. Would love for you to join us in Algonac sometime!

Hello - I have reserved space at Algonac Elementary School Gym every Thursday night from 6-8 thru the end of May. Beginning of June we will move our jam to Clay Township park.   We started in January and have consistently had a very large response. 

 

I have only attended one open DFG practice so far but loved it!

 

I helped organize a hoop workshop with Bonnie MacDougall of Haven Hoop Dance last Sunday.  We had a great turn out and plan on doing more.  Bonnie also holds classes in Clarkston.

 

Attended a few classes at D.A.K.A.  Jenna and Olivia are great instructors!

 

Last one (LOL) I am planning a hoop jam at Goodells County Park on May 20th.  I have a lot of out of town hoopers that can't make it to Algonac.  Starts at 1p.m. by the splash pad/playground.  If the weather is nice I plan on packing a picnic and staying all day :)

Taylor, an early welcome to Ann Arbor! I head one group, that is re-grouping right now, there is another flow group that happens here on Tuesday nights, and it looks like Colleen McNeely (see other comments) has another thing going. In addition, I'm going to try and swing a class or two through the Rec & Ed program next fall.

I am moving to Ann Arbor on May 15th and I'll be living there for 4 to 5 years! I'd love to find a consistent group of hoopers to meet with weekly. So excited to learn about the MI hoop scene, but leaving my Minnesota crew will be difficult.

Yeah i am from the Chesterfield, Macomb Ccounty area and I haven't had much luck on finding any classes or groups.  But I am going to be holding hoop gatherings at the Lenox twp library that i work at in New Haven Michigan starting in August.  Not sure on all the details just yet. if we get enough of a response we will carry it on over into the winter at the school next door.  And with it being a library event it makes it free.

thank you so much for the info! i grew up in Michigan, and am familiar with pretty much the whole metro area, so i am willing to go wherever! I am so excited to be moving back, i LOVE Michigan. and if there aren't any classes nearby, i think that may be just the push I need to start something myself! looking forward to meeting all of you and hooping :)

Hi Tiffany- I'm near Ann Arbor and have been looking for classes but no luck yet :-( I can't believe there aren't any in AA, it's crazy. I did find a teacher in Jackson though she's on maternity leave at the moment. But if you find any classes or groups please let me know! Haha.
