I need to figure out a way to rent or borrow a large amount of hoops for a class I'm starting. Was wondering of there were any suggestions to finding hoops? Any advice helps!

You could make them pretty inexpensively... for classes I just use black hoops taped with one strip of gaffer/hockey tape. Class hoops get so beat up that it's better to use a simple/boring tape pattern than a nice fancy one. A roll of tubing is about $17, and a roll of hockey tape is about $3, so you could make probably 9 hoops per roll for around $20.

This is wonderful! What website do you use to get the supply? Considering I don't think the school will fund hoops until they know if the class is popular, I may need to look into making them personally.

sarah has a great idea, i feel that may be your most inexpensive alternative. but if you are still looking to rent I have a TON of hoops I can tape for you for cheap. How much were you looking to spend, and how m any hoops were you looking for? I live in nh but often go to boston because my sister lives there. let me know if you would like to work something out, and congratulations on your class <3

Hey Cassandra I asked the woman in charge of the classes at NEU to let me know how many I will need and if they can fund the hoops for me. If they cannot I may have to look into a cheaper option. Considering they MAY fund the hoops how much would say 15- 20 hoops cost? Or maybe 30? I've never had to buy hoops in bulk so I'm not sure what cost is generally. Thanks for your help and support!

Actually I just got an email back and she is thinking I would only need 10 hoops to start. How much do you think then for 10 hoops as simple as they can maybe some grip on them?

Were you looking for the most basic grip? Meaning most of the original black tubing is exposed with the exception of one spiral grip tape? I could do 10 hoops for $165 and I can deliver them to Boston for you for free, to save on shipping :)
