Hi! I just learned how to do it pretty ok last weekend. I tried with my hoop for weeks and could not for the life of me get it but then I met up with a group of hoopers and tried with a smaller/lighter hoop for a few hours until it finally worked.

Maybe the size if holding you back?  Hope this helps.

I agree with Oceane.

I actually threw my hoop across the gym floor one night after becoming so frustrated with knee hooping. I was using a 44" inch super heavy hoop at the time. Once I switched to a 42", 100 PSI hoop it wasn't as painful and I was able to practice it more and more.  I know everyone says it...and it seems like its not ever gonna happen...but its practice. It will just click.

Another thing, definitely try knee hooping in shorts or a mini skirt. I still have trouble bringing up the hoop from my knees in pants. Skin is STICKY!

I totally forgot that I was wearing a short skirt when it finally worked!

Great advice :D

Thank you guys! I am still trying!

So I tried with my 1/2" x 33" 160 psi hoops and they just feel to light. i have3/4 36" hoops at 100 psi that i find work slightly  better.

In Safire's tutorial she says if you hoop to the left you want to push with your left leg. But I find it alot easier if i push with my right. Is that weird?

Not weird at all. You should do what comes naturally to your own body.

Here is a video of someone who does it the way you described: http://youtu.be/rgLNDD6PSy8

And here is the one on how to get it back up! http://youtu.be/UvqP6G3VNhE

My husband pushes with his right leg when hooping to the left.  Whatever works best for you. Learn with the leg that's more comfortable and then try alternating the legs--left pushes, then right pushes, then left pushes, then right pushes. Learning both legs make it easier to lift the legs in and out of the hoop when you get to that point.  Don't think too much about it.  Just turn on some music and try to keep time with it.  Be patient with yourself and have fun :)
Haha, thats a great way to put it! Im still trying!
