Thanks for offering your tips guys! Also try the shimmy in a quick method of turning with your current and scooping it up with your arms, dropping the shoulder out of the way to bring the hoop up to your neck.

One more thing! The speed of the hoop going around is really important too. It's hard to do this trick if the hoop is going around your knees/legs slowly. If you can knee hoop really quickly I think it will make it easier to get up your legs!

One thing that really helped me with getting the hoop back up my legs from knee hooping was to turn in the same direction I am hooping around my knees. I hoop to the right and use my right leg as the pusher leg. It helped me to turn to the right as I was doing this trick. Another thing that helped me was to use my pusher leg to give the hoop a little bump up, especially the first time it goes around your knees. This youtube video helped me, maybe it will help you!

Tiffany,the shimmy took me a while to get too but after a whole night of practice I was much better and the next day it just got easier.  I found that if you don't look down and keep your hands down close to the fronts of your thighs it helps a lot! I'm still having trouble with leg hooping too I just can't keep it balanced, it always drops to one side.  So maybe we could figure it out together! Oh and SaFire is amazing and if I had the extra money I'd be in her classes! She really knows how to explain things and I love her energy! I think it would be so worth it!

To those having trouble getting the hoop back up the legs, I have found that practicing in shorts is much easier. The more skin you have to grip the hoop, the better. Have you figured out how to do an anti-spin around the waist? The one to bring the hoop from your waist to the chest without using your hands? Use the same idea to bring it back up from your knees to your hips. I have found if you put your pusher leg a few inches forward from your standing leg, you can get a bit more control over it. Also, try to keep it just above the knee. The lower the hoop sits, the harder it is to bring back up. You want it to be somewhere between your mid thigh and your knee. Try practicing walking with the hoop (alternating pusher legs) to get the right feel.

Im working on these free classes and loving it but Im still having LOTS of trouble with the shimmy and leg hooping. I want to get really good with these free classes to justify spending the money on the real classes. Any tips would be greatly appreciated :D

I've practiced on my bed before so it wasn't loud when the hoop dropped. Or tore all the sheets and blankets off the pad the floor. Obsessed much... ; )

Heeeey now, that is a good idea! Thanks Hoopaula! And thank you as well SaFire! I will try both of those in the morning :) I would do it now but the people that live downstairs probably wouldn't like it. I'm pretty sure they think I bought a baby elephant this past month...hehe oh well.
